Quote:I met Nathaniel Today!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, so I have 2 friends in from Florida for the weekend. We decided to go and see LIVE with Regis and Kelly today. Well, LIVE is directly around the corner from OLTL. So, I parked my car early this morning and was walking to the LIVE studio. As I was walking down the street I saw Nathaniel walking to work at OLTL.
I stopped him and said hello. I apologized for bothering him, but asked him if I could get picture. He was so sweet and nice and agreed and told me I wasn't bothering him becasue if it wasn't for fans he wouldn't have a job. I ended up talking to him for 10 minutes. Now this is the part I want you guys to pay close attention to:
I asked him how long his contract was for on OLTL. He told me a whole other year from now. I then told him about the rumors going around about how is only going to be on OLTL until February. Nathaniel laughed at this and said no. I am going to be here for a while. Those rumors are false!
I then asked Nathaniel how come he wasn't going to SSW. Nathaniel was very funny and said "well, I am kind of difficult. I don't think that they wanted to chance it with me." I laughed and told him how much we all wanted him there. He said thank you.
I then told Nathaniel how happy we ALL are that he is back at OLTL and couldn't wait for Al and Marcie to be back together. Nathaniel smiled and said thank you I am very happy to be back as well. And I owe it all to you guys. So, please tell everyone thank you very much. Nathaniel was very appreciative, gracious and happy. He went on for a few minutes giving us fans props and thanking us.
Now, let me tell you our man can talk and he is so nice. I asked him for an autograph (I had some paper in my bag), but none of us had a pen. Well, our man told me to wait while he went upstairs to get a pen and then came back down with a pen to sign an autograph for me. I was shocked and thanked him endlesslee.
I can't say it enough on how nice and sweet Nathaniel was. And not to have a gutter girl moment, he is hot! OMG, NM is even hotter and more adorable in person. He smiled the whole time and was real down to earth. It was GREAT. Oh, and his lips! I have a thing for guys lips, and man Nathaniel's are perfect! LOL
But, wait don't go away yet! It gets better! I also saw Kathy, again. While I was walking away from Nathaniel and to the LIVE studio I saw Kathy comming to work too.
I walked right by her and said hello. She smiled and said hello. I asked her if I could get pic with her and her autograph. Kathy too was very sweet and said yes. I asked her about SSW and she said that she was definatly going to SSW, but was very tired. I told her that she looked great and so cute without make-up on. Kathy said thank you, but then went on to say that she is really tired and even though she might not look it she feels it.
I didn't want to keep Kathy because she said that she had to get inside, so I thanked her and said good-bye.
I then when to LIVE and had an even better time there becasue I met Kathy and Nathaniel. LOL That just made my day and was a GREAT surprise! It was a great day. But, what I am most happy about is that the rumors about NM/AL leaving OLTL in February are FALSE!! YEA!!!!!!!

The man gets more interesting by the day. His choice of words never cease to crack me up! But I wonder if its the end of meeting him at these public forums? But if this happens and its because he knows his limitations, then I have to not only respect that, but give him mountains of credit for it

That is so awesome! And I'm so glad he cleared that up because, of course, we just adore our Nathaniel and hope to see him around our Llanview as long as he'll have us.

Not in my wildest fantasies could I have realized just how cool he really is.
Wow... what a great day to be his fan. Each time he touches one of us, we are all touched...

"Someone once told me in the OLTL chatroom that they don't miss a day of OLTL because a day without OLTL could feel like a cold day without putting on their warm fuzzy slippers. What did this fan mean? Perhaps she was referring to watching Carlotta doing quite a job "cleaning up" at the poker table, listening to Smokey Robinson put out the old school jams. Or maybe this fan meant that watching an intense moment on our favorite soap listening to a dramatic fluty piece of music in the background can make us sense a fresh and innocent feeling in the air. Well, this is a soap OPERA after all.
I've heard it said that OLTL can feel like the rain that pours or the lightening that crashes, as the band, Live, would sing. Whether we're being provoked to tears while watching Max grieve for Luna with their song "I Still Believe in You" playing... or to blows hearing the sound of Delores O'Riordan's voice (of the Cranberries) reverberating "What's in Your Head" from "Zombie" reverberating throughout Rodi's as Blair blasts Max for dirty dealing, OLTL has been hitting the mark for awhile now...
Perhaps some of the most gripping music selections is yet to come for those of us who are romantics. My personal recommendation is to keep an ear open to Natalie Merchant's introspective songs that have been floating around Llanview. I dedicate "Wonder" to baby Starr."

I'm not sure what you mean, Char. I'm assuming he was saying he was difficult because of his propensity to oversleep and show up late. Or maybe he was just being self-deprecating and evasive in his answer. That whole exchange confused me, I imagine you had to be there to get what he really meant. (Lucky Tink, and she's such a sweetie to share that with us.)
But, imo its important to have some kind of personal contact with the fans. Going to events like SSW and the luncheon, writing back to fans who take the time to write you, doing chats, etc., the publicity is important. He's getting a lot of press right now, which is great, but I'd hate to see him catapault into the "untouchable" sphere, where there's a chasm separating him from the fans. So I'd like to think that attending these public forums aren't out of the question for him. And yeah, I'll be selfish, I'd like to meet him someday and the only way will be at a public forum, thank you very much.

Lucky girl indeed!... having him all to herself! At public forums, you have security pushing you along, lucky to get any kind of feel for each other. Lucky for me at SSW Anaheim, I was able to have an exchange. I hope you are right about not being able to make too much out of the idea that he's problematic at such functions. Its just that... well... I sensed he was trouble with a capital T... but I mean that in a good way... though I suspect it isn't always good in everyone's eyes. Getting into trouble makes the world go round for me, but not for everyone.

After I read this part over again, I think that was Nathaniel's way of taking a funny little jab at his detractors. You know...the various internet posters who kept claiming over and over again that the reason he got fired was for "personal problems" and "being difficult" . I could be wrong, but either way, I thought that was too funny!

He's definitely poking fun at the idea, so I never saw it as any sort of admission, fo sho. But I like to think his own reputation is amusing to him, for more that the fact that he doesn't deserve it, but because he's just on the edge enough to enjoy claiming it... I don't know if you follow me. I could be completely wrong... I just sense that guy is always up to no good, tongue in cheek sort of way.. cat who ate the canary sort of way.

This is just too cool
It was great of Tink to share her story with us. I am so jealous of her and happy for her at the same time. wouldn't it be great to just be casually walking down the street and just happen to walk by him. she just happened to walking to the Live studio when he was headed to work. How cool is that? he just seems so easy to talk to, also. It was so great of him to go and get a pen to give her his autograph, that man definitely cares about his fans and it's great to see. he keeps giving us more reasons to why we like him as much as we do. I'm glad when people share their encounters cause it allows me to feel like I've met him too even if it's in an indirect way.
and I'm so glad to hear that he WILL be around for at least another year.

I've been drooling over that set for some time... That image came up in my fan fiction...

It;'s Me!
Hey Guys!
I have decided to post here! I didn't realize that this board had a forum until now! I am glad to find it! So you will be seeing a lot of me now! LOL
As for what NM was talking about when he said:
Quote:Nathaniel was very funny and said "well, I am kind of difficult. I don't think that they wanted to chance it with me." I laughed and told him how much we all wanted him there. He said thank you.
From what I took away from it was not only was he taking jabs at the rumors online about how he over sleeps, and his personal problems etc, but also maybe saying that tptb hired him back so they want him to almost "prove" himself and show that he will be on his best behavior before they will have to do a big event like SSW. I don't know this is just my opinion from standing there talking to him, so I could be right or could be wrong. But, it definatly sounded to me that if NM was invited to SSW he would have gone. Nathaniel made it sound like tptb didn't invite him. However, I am sure that he will be invited to SSW California and another big events in due time. I mean hey, he has to be, he and KAthy are the MOST popular couple and characters on the show right now!

You are probably right about his comment, from what I know about his personality it seems like the thing that he would do, just to toy with the whole situation. and there's no doubt in my mind that he'd attend future fan events cause he is so appreciative of his fans that I couldn't see him missing the opportunity to show his appreciation.

Tink... thanks for posting your feelings on it... You were there and you can get a sense of something. I remember when you met KB outside the theatre and you got a sense she was letting you know it was all going to be worth watching.. and you were right. Cool you'll post with us more often. I have to get to TCB more often too!
