Evan stood in his room dressed no differently than he was in the Jonah's Whale, which is to say, in his changed skin as Wisp. He had a full outfit waiting on the bed, but for some reason, most likely the fact that he had been completely exhausted, his power to regenerate his human form was slower than he had expected. He had gotten to his room only in time to collapse unconscious for almost an entire hour. He had awoken only a few minutes ago, and found he felt almost ready to return to human form.
Still he had gotten clothes first, as his regenerated form wouldn't have the clothes he had worn to the Jonah's Whale. Then, as he concentrated, the room was filled worth the loud cracking those who knew him would find familiar, and yet, the only thing unusual was that instead of tearing his skin apart, he seemed to expand, and his skin to literally melt into normal human skin. The moment he was human appearing again, Evan dressed, and began a walk to the office of Charles Xavier. He arrived in only a few minutes, but was breathing heavily, still tired from changing so much as he had on the Olympia and from regenerating his human form. He knocked on the door, and announced himself as always with, "Professor Xavier, it's Evan. May I come in?"

As Professor Xavier had his telepathy open in order to communicate with Scott who'd beckoned him from the interior of the Whale, Charles' mind was wide open and easily picked up the young Evan as he knocked on the professor's office door.
~"Evan... this is Professor Xavier. I hear you but at the moment I have another pressing matter to attend to. You may wait for me in my office if you like and I will be with you just as soon as I am able. You are also welcome to meet me downstairs, unless it is a private matter you wish to discuss."~
Xavier advised the young man and in his heart he swelled a bit with the feeling of being surrounded by a multitude of lively and energetic young people. There would certainly be moments of confusion, like now, but one thing at a time and all will fall into place, he reminded himself as he continued on his way.

Evan smiled, but sat in the chair. ~I'll wait here, Professor. It's not private, but I'm still tired. My powers got more of a workout on the Olympia than I've had before, and then having to regenerate my human form, well, it's taken a lot out of me.~ He smiled as he thought over the Olympia incident a bit, reviewing in his mind the events he had seen, even the tutorials he had undergone, not only because he had enjoyed it, as tiring as it was, but also because he suspected the Professor might be aware of it.

Just as he finished his response to the young man, he pushed through the doors of the kitchen and could see Gambit out on the patio confronting the young girl.
'Psyche?' he thought as he recognized the young mutant he'd met previously.
Summary: Xavier lets Evo know he will be with him shortly, however, he has a crises on the kitchen patio to deal with first. And, on that note, Xavier is now found HERE. He will return to this thread soon, Jeff.
Once he'd taken a moment or two to center his thoughts after the incident on the patio, Prof. Xavier waited for Jean and Logan to come back out then he returned to his office.
Evan was waiting for him and Charles didn't want the young man to feel forgotten.
"Evan," the professor greeted as he entered his office to find the boy waiting patiently, "my apologies for making you wait so long. However, I appreciate your patience, now... how may I be of assistance?"

Evan's eyes snapped open as Xavier walked in. He had clearly been dozing off yet again. "Sir, it's about the Olympia and the Jonah's Whale. I wanted to make sure you had everything you wanted from me about what happened on ship," he said, even as he thought And then, I need to eat something so I'll stop falling asleep. That was more effort I've put into my powers today than I have before, and it definitely takes energy to do, especially Crunch and regenerating my human shell.
Then, he took a deep breath. "Were there any specific parts you wanted to know about? I know you had a debriefing planned, but I don't know what exactly you had in mind for that," he commented before waiting for Xavier's response.

Scott hurried into the office with a mental and physical knock, inwardly swearing at himself when he saw Xavier had beaten him there. Having sweated and then slept in the same clothes for 24 hours, he'd stopped for a quick shower-and-change and now he was late again.
"Sorry, sir," he said to the Professor, nodding in both respect and apology. "Hello, Evo," he added, acknowledging the other mutant.

Xavier smiled softly at the comments of the two men as he wheeled his chair behind his desk.
"Scott, why don't you join us?" he invited with a gesture to an empty chair in front of his desk. "That is if Evan doesn't mind. It would appear, however, that you both wish to see me regarding the events of the mission, so why don't we use this time and opportunity to conference." He waited for either one to agree or decline, looking at them with a welcoming glint in his eyes.

Evan actually chuckled as he replied. "Fine by me. Maybe Cyclops being here will help with a few things." He gestured easily for Scott to sit in a nearby chair. "Besides, more than one point of view can reveal things that one person alone might miss."
"I whole-heartedly agree, Evan," the professor replied. Then folding his hands on the desk in front of him, he waited for Scott to take a seat. As the two young men looked to him, both with pleasant expressions if not a bit tired looking, Charles invited, "So... who would like to begin?"
"Thank you, sir." Scott took the indicated seat, even taking his ease with the unconscious upright posture and economy of motion that West Point had instilled in him.
It was strange, seeing the Professor again. He looked older and more tired, but the strength of will and character that had inspired so much awe in Scott when he'd come here as a child was still there. And those four years away hadn't lessened the feeling, if anything the time and training had given him a clearer appreciation of how rare and precious a man like Xavier was.
And the last 24 hours had given him a clearer appreciation of how much a man like Xavier was going to be needed.
Charles invited, "So... who would like to begin?"
"With your permission, sir, I will. Where would you like me to begin?"
"With your permission, sir, I will. Where would you like me to begin?" Scott asked.
Professor Xavier smiled, amused for a moment as the thought to say 'begin at the beginning' entered his mind. Composing himself only a moment later, he thought about the question seriously then opted for, "The Olympia. What exactly transpired aboard that ship? I do have some knowledge as I was keeping tabs on those I could between business here at the Institute, however.... there are a few... members of the team who I cannot link with, therefore I have little or no knowledge of their actions or behavior during a mission. I rely on you, Scott, in this instance... and you, Evan, to bring me up to date."
He poured himself a glass of water from the pitcher and offered the same to each of the young men. Once they were all taken care of, he repeated, giving Scott his cue to begin, "Now then... The Olympia, if you will..." and afforded Scott his full attention.

Organizing his thoughts, Scott began his report.
"When we arrived at the Olympia, we divided into three teams. "Wolverine and Jean went to neutralize the generator; Mana took a group to assist the wounded; and Evo, Karina, Scarlet Witch, Chamber, Gambit, and I headed toward Engineering, where Andreas and Felicia were believed to be. We quickly discovered that parts of the ship had been rigged with explosives, apparently by Sabretooth. He was pursuing another of his team, Rogue, and attacked both us and her. While we fought with him, I sent Evo ahead to scout."
Nodding toward Evo, he paused to allow the younger mutant to speak.OOC: Apologies if I leave out anyone or skip any important occurances. I'm going partly on memory and partly on 30 pages of somewhat confusing rp.

Evo nodded to Cyclops. "At Cyclops' order, i moved ahead as Wisp, finding that some of the hallway further along was falling apart because of everything. Then, he reported a possible hostile in the area. I offered to return, but he said to keep going. Then, the bulkehead door closed right in front of me, so i headed back towards Cyclops, letting him know I was coming. Well, thanks to this big hairy guy they caleld Sabretooth, I didn't make it back, and had to call for my shell. Nightcrawler brought it, then I went as human back to the bulkheadd. As Crunch, I made short work of the bulkhead, and carried on from there. I saw a cat and a ferret on the way, but just kept on going since they seemed to be nothing in the way of a threat. Well, I finally found the mutants, but this dark woman was there, saying that we'd kill them." Then, he paused, looking at Cyclops. Hopefully the older man would have somethign to say about this, or what happened next.

Giving Evan an approving smile, Scott resumed his narrative.
"Chamber was able to drive Sabretooth off," literally, he thought. "And Rogue agreed to join us helping the people aboard the Olympia. I think she's left the Brotherhood -- she said she had nowhere left to go." He looked at Xavier, meeting his mentor's blue eyes*. "She was wrong on that. We brought her back with us."
Returning to the account, Scott continued, "We went on toward Evan in Engineering. The dark woman was Mystique and when he told us the way she was trying to deceive Andreas and Felicia, I thought it best to get there as quickly as possible to try to counter her lies. Detailing Gambit to bring the others, I had Kurt 'port me directly to Engineering, along with Evo's shell. Shortly after I arrived, Magneto came, as well. And a human commando team." Behind the crimson glasses, there was sadness in Scott's eyes. "It was a setup, sir. Magneto planned the whole thing. I think he was trying to provoke a fight between the humans and us."
*OOC: I remember Xavier's eyes as being blue, but if I'm mistaken let me know and I'll fix it.

Mrs. Adams having watched as Jean made her way back to the patio sort of frowned at that. What was she to do now? Voices were coming from the other side of the door and she didn't want to interrupt anything.
LaTrina was close to her mother, her eyes going around, with a wide eyed almost blank stare. She was impressed of this place. It was huge! She would have easily gotten lost here if it wasn't for that pretty red haired woman.
~Wonder what's her ability?~ she thought. LaTrina turned to her mother, now questions in her eyes.

The professor listened intently to the report given so far. When Scott mentioned Eric had set up his X-Men teams... again, his blue eyes flashed with an anger rarely seen.
He sat quietly for a moment, contemplating the information, when he picked up a mental nudge from outside the door. Jean had brought a young girl and her mother to see him, they were new to the Institute.
~"Hello. My name is Charles Xavier, please don't be alarmed. I'm speaking to you telepathically. If you would take a seat," he invited, referring to the two sets of chairs set to either side of the hall just outside his office, "I'll be with you as soon as I am able. I'm afraid you've caught me in the middle of a very important meeting. Hopefully your wait will not be long."~
Then he focused on Scott once more. "Go on, please," he insisted, needing to hear more especially knowing now that his old friend had once again deceived him, again, deliberately putting his X-Men at risk.

~"You!!" Andreas shouting, recognition mixed with shock and anger, Felicia clinging to his arms.
~A gun, clattering to the floor at Magneto’s feet. "They will NEVER leave us alone!"
~Evo, speaking quietly, "Humans have the right to protect themselves from mutants who would hurt them. I ask only that we prove we aren't that kind of mutant."
~"What the hell's goin' on here?” Wolverine snarling, a black-clad commando pinned tightly hostage against his chest.
~Scott’s own voice ... “The road they offer is paved with fear, please, don't go down that way."
~A big commando *(Nemesis, Scott's memory supplied)* hands held open and empty. "I'm prepared to take my men and leave right now ... if you can guarantee me that your attacks on this ship and its passengers will cease."
~Scott, extending his hand to Logan. "A gesture of good faith?"
~Wolverine, glaring at Nemesis, "... Cover's blown.. but the mission ain't over... is it? ... What's yer part in this? Spill it... or I spill his guts all over the deck."
~Mystique, whispering quietly into Felicia’s ear.
~Magneto’s head jerking up explosively, his expression pained.
~”He's useless to you as a hostage,” Nemesis saying. “You kill him and you do so out of spite. The X-Men were never known for cold-blooded murder ... Then again ... they were never known for carrying Magneto's water, either."
~Wolverine: “You ready to be a slave to the likes o' them? Or you wanna have a chance at a real life? One with purpose..."
~"Do you know what it means to be a slave, Wolverine?" Magneto asking with quiet intensity. "Yes, of course you do, I forgot. Perhaps we could entertain each other with our mutual distrust of governments, and why we need to set ourselves apart!
~Karina: "Though I haven't met you and your friend for all that long, I can tell that I would like to be your friends."
~The hostage commando half-thrown toward Nemesis, Wolverine’s voice following, “We don't commit murder an' we don't carry a drop o' Magneto's water. Looks like we got the same mission."
~Evo: “Magneto, though, he came to us and said he just wanted to help you two nothing more, and now he's letting Mystique, or Raven, whatever her name is, try to get you to work with him against humans, people who are helpless compared to a mutant with even the slightest useful power. Which choice would you rather make?"
~Logan to the girl, "See where we are? You... and us? Magneto an' the Brotherhood on one side... the likes o' S.H.I.E.L.D. on the other.... an' us caught in the middle, tryin' to bridge the gap. You want a future, kid? The X-Men can offer you a chance at one, believe me, I know. We'll watch yer back, kid... all the way. What's it gonna be, Felicia? Us?.... Or them?"
~Felicia, hesitant but determined, pulling at Andreas’ arm. He resisting, wanting to hear more.
~Magneto, bathed in light: "My craft carries nuclear warheads. You might recognize them -- They are the warheads the new government of the Ukraine was about to sell to the U.S. Your congress, however, had higher uses for the money so they fell onto the black market. To prevent their use on Tel Aviv or New York, I prevailed in the negotiations ... Does that make me a hero in your eyes?"
~"That's yer answer to all this?" Wolverine turning to Magneto, his voice low and serious again. "Nuclear warheads? Who're you to decide that everyone on board this ship should die if you don't succeed in yer goal? That's what I meant by bein' yer slave!!"
~Storm: "Don’t be afraid. Everyone must choose, but know this, we can help you."
~”It doesn't make you a hero,” Nemesis' biting reply, “not when you parrot Hitler's 'Master Race' rhetoric with such fervor."
~Magneto, hands held before him in supplication: "... My hands held roughly, the ashes of thousands ... I say roughly, for time was not allowed for either grace nor tenderness. Rabbi, teacher, farmer, ... mother. It ends here."
~Felicia, stepping toward Magneto ...

Summary: The post equivalent of the yearly Stargate clip show! A heavily-abridged account of the Engineering Encounter.
OOC: Nope, not every word/action is there (though I did try to include at least a little from everyone who contributed). The order of events is as true to the confusing sequence of the time as I could make it. Any discrepancies or omissions, just blame on Scott's non-eidetic memory.

The visions and images that Scott transmitted to the professor flashed in Xavier's head like a preview trailer to an epic blockbuster film. When they finally stopped Charles opened his eyes slowly, "I see... too clearly, now."
Lowering his eyes to the desk in front of him, they moved about as he gave serious thought to what he'd seen. Then coming back to the present, he looked up at the men waiting, his gaze moving from one, then the other.
"Tell me... what happened on the Jonah's Whale?"

Cyclops resumed his account, pausing now and again for Evan to elaborate or Xavier to ask questions.
"Nemesis and his men had some sort of power neutralizers," Scott said, unconsciously massaging his chest where the big man had literally shouldered him out of the way. "We were able to stop the others by using our powers indirectly, but he got aboard the Whale ahead of us and damaged the transpad.
"When we caught up with him, he was with a mutant, a shape-shifter who called herself Crow. They didn't seem to be enemies, but not really partners, either. We'd gotten the word by then of some sort of self-destruct device of unknown power counting down aboard the Olympia. I knew we couldn't get the civilians or the warheads clear in time, but when I warned him of the danger, he called on the fleet's resources to do it.
"We then managed to subdue him and his companion and Logan came over from the Olympia to take charge. Wolverine sent Kurt, Storm, Evan, and myself to find the control room. When we did, it looked like it had been the scene of a battle, but there was no sign of Magneto or any of his people and we began trying to figure out how to pilot the Whale.
"I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but Nemesis somehow got loose and temporarily overpowered Logan. I heard the gunfire and went to see what I could do."
Scott paused for a long moment, collecting his thoughts once again in hopes of explaining his thinking at the time. "I was starting to suspect that that was what Magneto had wanted all along -- mutants and humans fighting each other. Even the Whale seemed to be programmed to, mmm, pick fights between us. Fortunately, he apparently underestimated Wolverine ... and Nemesis. With Logan's permission, I was able to negotiate a truce. We agreed to let Nemesis search the ship and clear it of any WMDs. In return, he agreed to persuade the fleet to let us -- and the Whale -- go.
"The rest," Scott spread his hands, "you probably already know. Except for one thing." He frowned, concern in his eyes behind their crimson lenses. "I don't think he recognized me, but I've met Nemesis before. Here, in Salem Center. His name is Henry Gyrich." OOC: Info dump #2, a summary of the events on the Whale from Scott's perspective. Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers.On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured.After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed.Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available.Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
