Another difficult type: the always busy player
The always busy player.

Definition:

A player that always (always!) has problems in Real Life to post regularly in the board.

Description:

He is nice, he is a good role-player, he always volunteers to help -- but, oh Eru, all the fatalities of the world befall upon him. His modem got broken and he won’t post for a week. Then he got a virus and now needs to reinstall the whole comp, don’t expect him to show up for the next two or three weeks. His grandma got sick and he is gone to visit her. When he comes back home he got the flu. Then he has his finals -- and after the finals he goes camping. But hey, guess what, when he came back from camping, his modem got broken again, can you believe it?. And, apparently, his grandma is still so weak... and the comp is not running as it should...

Behind the curtain, we have a person that really wants to play -- and surely does in so many places at the same time that he can’t handle all his chars, but he doesn’t want to renounce to any of them. Or he has no time to RP, but he doesn’t wish to realize it. This, or he is more doomed than Túrin Turambar.

Another possibility would be that we met an “OOC player”, but this would belong to another kind of type.

How to deal with him:

If you poke him (kindly, of course), he might post... before to fall down from a tree when he was trying to rescue his sis’ kitty. The best way would be to build a scene only for him, in such a way that he would get tied down to the board (making him play the ‘hero’ or get the girl, etc.), but then, once the scene were over, he would surely too...
