Before moving posts
Please do not delete any forums until you have confirmed that all moved topics have arrived in the new forum.

If you have moved topics and they are missing, please start a topic and give us a link to your board and let us know the original forum(s) and the destination forum(s). You can give us links to each forum, the forum names or the forum number (such as frm9). We can reload the forums and this should bring the topics out of hiding. 90% of missing topics are in limbo in the original forum.

There is a known issue with moving topics.

90% of missing topics are in limbo in the original forum.

One that thing we have found that works, and that any mod or admin of a board can do, is to move topics using this method:
1. Open 2 browser windows, one to the original forum and one to the destination forum.
2. Move the topics as you normally would.
3. Immediately switch to the window with the destination forum, and refresh the page. Usually one refresh will show the moved topics appearing, but occasionally you need to refresh a couple of times to make them appear.

Somehow, viewing and refreshing the destination forum recaches that forum and completes the move.

Another advantage to using this method is that if the topics go awol, you will notice. You can then let us know and we can refresh both forums. Please provide links to all forums involved in the move.

There is a related bug p080.ezboard.com/fbugsfrm124.showMessage?topicID=277.topic (forum holds more than 20 pages) that can cause topic moves to fail.

Some gold boards prefer to move a copy of the topic to the new forum. After they have confirmed that the topic has arrived safely, they delete the original.

There is a bug that can occur when you move multi-page topics. p079.ezboard.com/fbugsfrm124.showMessage?topicID=251.topic

If the forum is empty, create a new thread in that forum before moving any threads. Forums that lost all topics in the attack seem to need that new topic in order to successfully receive moved topics. If you are unsure, test on a few threads first, or copy them and then delete the originals.

If you have a forum that continually has problems with moved topics disappearing, you may want to copy the existing topics into a new forum with the same name and delete the existing corrupted forum.
