Britney's new song
I like a very wide range of different artists for different reasons. Everything from oldies, to folk, to pop, to opera, to world, to 80's to hard medal. It seems rather "unpopular" to like Britney Spears and her music but I can't help but want to get up and dance to her stuff and I love to watch her dance! I wanted to be a dancer when I was young and I love dance. Anyway I'm rambling here sorry. I know a lot of people tend not to like Britney. I admit I don't always agree with some choices she makes but I do like her music and I think she's quite an astonishing all around talent. I've heard snippets of her new songs from the album that is about to be released and I must say from what I have heard, the songs are very different from her previous albums. Which brings me to the reason for this post. My friend brought to my attention that there was a video of Britney performing a new song off her new album. I watched and I have to say it really stuck. I know Britney gets a bad rep for being "too sexy" but maybe I overlook that because I work in the theatre, but I believe their is a lot of acting that happens in the music indusry. Britney isn't the first and she won't be the last to play the sexy image card and I'd be lying if I said that sometimes it isn't nice to feel sexy when you're out on the dance floor dancin away. In general I think our society is to obsessed with sex but I also think I can seperate the person/artist from an image. Sorry I'm still rambling, but I was reading on another messageboard today about how some people feel that because the industry is capitalizing on sexy image, that people like Madonna, Britney, Janet, Christina ect ect have no morals because they are so sexy or whatever. That comment just stuck out to me because I really don't think people grasp how much people in the industry are actually acting. How are we to know what a person's morals are based on how they dress or how they appear in a music video? "We" who aren't famous don't know the pressures that are out there or the reasons that are really behind what people do. I guess it feels really judgemental to me to come down on someone's morals because they dress or act sexy. I'm a very spiritual and my faith is very important to me. I guess I try to find the good in almost everything. Take what I can from things and seperate the entertaiment industry from the person. From what I've seen, Britney really isn't as bad as some make her out to be. I might dress or act sexy myself because I'm not comfortable dressing or acting that way but I can certainly understand how easy it is to fall into that in Hollywood. I think there is a lot more to Britney Spears then just the sexy image Much the same as with Marilyn Monroe.

That being said here new song is very sensual without being about actual sex (although it could be interpreted as being about sex). I guess only Britney knows for sure. Anyway I like the song and have a video for anyone who wants to see it. If Britney annoys you, don't watch! LOL
