Re: Candidates September 05
Does it have to be a forum or can it be any site?

Re: Candidates September 05
It can be a forum, or a site - anything that you find interesting, as long as it can be found on the internet (and has legal content of course)

Then I simply must nominate Uruviel's Argonath. It is movie oriented, but lots of content and very, very cool. Check out her song vids!

Re: Candidates September 05
*gasps* (see the PS to know why).

Now for the question: I know it might sound a bit odd, but, should the site be related to Tolkien, or to Literature in General, or to Fantasy-Science Fiction? Can be they "official" or "important" sites or just little ones? About anything (including, huh, shall we say, NGOs or politics or blogs? I just want to be sure it can be about anything :)

About the gasp: Well, I posted this question a while after Andranneth's reply to Quiene... and the post vanished... And yes, I'm pretty sure I clicked on the "Add Reply" button... And I don't think the admins deleted it... :(

Re: Candidates September 05
I see I have to make the rules for this a bit more clear. :) It's on my To-Do list now.
Until I get that done, here's a little elaboration on the general rule:
The site/group can be about anything, not only LOTR, or fantasy...anything. Big official sites as well as little ones (although I don't think sites like Google.com or something would be a good choice since they are so very general)

There are two major restictions, though:
- The site must be legal (meaning, no illegal content)
- The site's rating should be reasonable (meaning no pornography and such - I am not familiar with the current rating system.)

Oh, don't forget the part "short explanation of the site" when nominating. It would be nice to know what is special about it, or what you particularly like about it.

(PS: Hmm, that's strange. I.. fancy I read about something similar in the big base not too long ago. If it happens again, please let me know. I'll keep an eye on the matter)

Re: Candidates September 05
Okay, generally today would be the day when I would create a poll to decide about the next featured site. Since we only have one candidate so far that's not really possible, though.
In case we get more candidates until the end of the month thre will be a shirt poll. If not...

Re: Candidates September 05
Hi!

I would like to Nominate Gold Seven website. Since unfortunately it is a bit neglected, in the sense that she has not published there all her works, I post here her Deviant Art page too, with a link to the Gallery where, besides, she inserts random comments: for example, Lúthien's pic was based on Edith Tolkien's, she tried at least. Please, please, check it! :) There you would find all her work, and I would really have nominated this site were not because it looks... well, just as any Deviant Art’s page. Her pics are mainly based upon Tolkien's First Age, Harry Potter, George R.R. Martin and R. A. Salvatore.

Gold Seven, aka Jenny Dolfen, is a german girl, teacher of english by trade, but she devotes a part of her time, aside to work, to care her husband and little wee, and to RP, to draw, and she is getting of lately a lot of work, so she is some sort of professional. How does she manage to deal with all this, is a mystery for me.

I nominate her for several reasons, being some of them: because I simply love her pics to death, because she is my friend and because <cough> a huge lot of people use her pics to create avatars or siggies </cough> or to put them on their websites and, hey, she deserves to be advertised, even if her sites have not the looks of others, but the content is worth to pay them a visit :)

As promised, I made a poll to decide between the two candidates that we now have. The poll will be open for only ten days except the usual two weeks, though.
