Favorite DAYS weddings over the years
1. Patch and Kayla on the yacht---Not only was the setting absolutely gorgeous, Kayla got her hearing and speech back after being attacked by Harper Deveraux, a.k.a. The Riverfront Knifer, just in time to say her vows. Truly one of DAYS' best!
2. Jack and Jennifer's wild West wedding---It combined romance and the humor we've come to love from this couple. It's still amazing how Jack's character has evolved from dark and dramatic to the loveable, mischevious bumbler. (We'll discuss Jack the rapist in another post).
3. Eugene and Calliope's snowy nupitals---My favorite scene was when her dress lit up in the snow! I loved Eugene and Calliope, they were wacky without being annoying and the show needs them back!
4. Calliope's dog wedding---She thought marrying off her dog to make the puppies legit was the right thing to do, and even made the costumes. It was hilarious!
5. Bo and Hope's England wedding---DAYS excess at its best!
6. Sami and Austin's wedding that never was to be---My favorite moment? When Carrie punched the b!tchy bride of course!
7. Carrie and Austin's wedding---Mike tried to tell her he was in love with her, and Sami running around acting like a lunatic, it was both heartbreaking and entertaining at the same time. And finally, Marlena had the guts to tell her witchy daughter off!
8. John and Isabella's wedding---they wanted to get married before the baby came so he wouldn't be out of wedlock, but Brady wouldn't wait!
9. John and Susan's wedding---who can forget it when her teeth flew into the champagne glass and John dressed as Elvis?
10. Doug and Julie's second wedding---I got to see this during a DAYS retrospective, and it was lovely. I don't know if I would want my groom singing to me, but on soaps, it works.
Does anyone else have a different favorite wedding, or want to elaborate on mine?

Excellent topic, Bree! I very faintly remember Doug and Julie's 2nd wedding from its original airing. They were still one of Days' top couples at the time and the wedding was a huge deal.
I have to agree with all of your choices, but there were two weddings that are conspicuously absent from your list that I would like to add...
Mickey/Maggie (remarriage) & Pete/Melissa Double Wedding! It was on Valentine's Day and the grooms wore red ties and cumberbuns with their white tuxes. These were two very special couples to me in the 80s and I just loved this wedding. Someone please correct me, but isn't this the only double wedding ever held on Days?
Kim & Shane! OMG! I looooooved this wedding. It started out as Shane and Gillian Forrester's wedding, but Kim burst in with proof that Gillian was the person who'd murdered Shane's first wife Emma Donovan Marshal! Gillian just so happened to be hiding a gun under her bridal bouquet and held the church at gun point before being captured. Then, suddenly, since everyone was already there in the church, it turned into Kim and Shane's wedding. I just loved her dress! It's one of my favorite soap wedding dresses ever!

I left those two out because I was in school when those aired and we didn't have a VCR at the time. And yes, Pete and Melissa and Mickey and Maggie's double wedding was the only one of its kind on DAYS.
Oh yeah, I also forgot Hope's wedding to Larry Welch when Larry opened up the veil and it turned out to be Howie Hoffstedder! Bo had rescued Hope and the two sped off on his motorcycle!

Yes! The Larry/Hope wedding is one of Days' most classic moments ever! It was so great that they even had Jack & Jennifer do a repeat of it when Jack raced to stop Jennifer's wedding to Emilio on the back of a fire truck! I still remember Harry Hoffsteder's (sp?) face underneath that veil!
And I was in school during Kim & Shane's wedding, too, but it was such a big deal that we convinced our French teacher to postpone class for the day and turn on Days! She was a fan too and was more than happy to comply.

Great topic! The only weddings that you mentioned that I have seen are J&J, Steve & Kayla on the yacht, and the almost Sami/Austin one. I also liked Steve & Kayla's second wedding, where they had their baby Stephanie in the ceremony, and Harper almost shot Steve but Jack pushed him out the bell tower before he could do it. And also going with what you said about Jack's transformation, Jack went from not even being invited to S&K's first wedding to being the Best Man in the second!
The almost Jennifer/Emilio wedding was classic! It paralleled Bo and the motorcycle, but because Jack and Jennifer are not the conventional soap couple, the firetruck and Jack dressed up as a fireman were totally unique! I love the look on Emilio the Loser's face when he rushes into Jennifer's empty bridal room! That guy was such a doofus.

are on your list already Bree! Of course Steve & Kayla's yacht wedding was amazing (even included Jack's little transformation as he got past his need to break them up.)
John & Susan's big reveal wedding was another one of my faves. It was so exciting & funny & everything I'd hoped it would be & more! And then Kristen getting in trouble (even though I was rooting for her) & Marlena being saved (even though I had hoped she'd die!) was great!
And my next fave was the the Brady sister switch wedding where Carrie finally got Austin. Not because I wanted to see them married (never liked them together!) but because the big reveal & punch was so exciting! I love an exciting wedding almost as much as a romantic one, more so when I don't like the pair. When the whole family turned against Sami after finding out everything she had done, I was so excited (even though I love Sami & always root for her!)
There wasn't any real weddings during the Reilly era, and I didn't really like SSM/TL's John/Marlena and Bo/Hope wedding. We were jipped bigtime!
Some of my favorite Non-weddings was Kristen(Susan)/John's Elvis wedding, and Bo/Billie's when naked-Doc revealed herself and the chanderlier(??) falling, and Sami/Austin's when it was revealed that Lucas was the father of Will.

I have to say that a few really special moments in Days history come to mind...
HOPE/LARRY/HOWIE - For sure my all-time favourite is Hope and Howie's wedding to Larry. So special. And Bo rushing in to a crying Hope proclaiming, "I'm here to take the woman I love!" OMG, that is probably the best and first of it's kind.
ROMAN & MARLENA 1983 - A beautiful wedding and with a great sublot of Stefano's hired hitman in the balcony, Roman being stuck at the tux shop, and flowing right into the Ridgecrest adventure with Marlena and Don going on the honeymoon together and Roman disguising himself as Mr. Snow, and Stefano shooting Chris, kidnapping Liz and Marlena and holding them hostage. Wow, what a story!
ANNA & TONY 1983 - When Anna got Tony drunk in Vegas and had a minister come and marry them, as she was trying to hold Tony up the whole time. Classic!
and of course, Calliope and Eugene's is a very unforgettable wedding. So hilarious.
