Forum Tips & Suggestions
Here you'll find helpful tips about ways to get the most out of Anistonline Forum!
1. PREFERENCES OPTIONS
Log into your Ezboard account and click on the 'Personal' tab in your 'Control Center'. Then click on the 'Edit Preferences' link. Once there make sure the following options are ticked: [these are recommended but not obselete].
'Automatically fill in the subject on replies'
'Move topics to top'
'Use Emoticons'
'Autocreate Links'
'Use EzCodes'
In this section of your account, you can also choose whether or not you would like to 'Accept Private Messages'. Checking this box allows other users to send you private messages via email. Unchecking it prevents them from doing so.
Also, there is the 'Accept Admin Emails' option. Checking this box allows ezboard administrators such as myself to send you messages via email should the need arise. Allowing an administrator to send you email does not require that your email address is public, nor does it allow the administrator to see what your address is. Unchecking this box prevents all administrators from sending you email messages.
2. PERSONAL OPTIONS
Once in the 'Personal' section of your 'Control Center', you can choose what you want other members of Ezboard to know about you. Click the 'Edit Profile' link to set these options to your liking. Here, you can choose whether you want others to see your e-mail address or not, see where you are from, your webpage address, and even recent posts to all Ezboards you are a member of. These can all be turned on and off, keeping your identity just the way you like it, private or public.
3. MARK FORUM READ OPTION
At the top of every Forum at Anistonline Forum, under the main banner, you will see a link called 'Mark Forum read'. This is an excellent feature that I use myself as it allows you to see what topics have new posts in them the next time you visit Anistonline Forum. It saves you having to guess how many posts there were last when you visited, and what's new and what's old. I highly recommend you take advantage of this option.
The way you do it is once you have finished reading all the new posts at say, the 'Aniston DISCUSSION' Forum, all you have to do is click the 'Mark Forum Read' link and your done! Next time you visit that Forum, you will see a special icon of Jennifer's eye next to any topics with new messages since you last visited. When your done reading all the new messages, do the same again. It saves searching for new posts!
