Think Freddie Mercury and The Who and KISS. Glitter and glam and edge.

That's the vibe at Glamorama, Marshall Field's glitzy annual Chicago bow to fashion happening Friday at the Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State.

This year's theme: Glam Rocks. It's all to kick off the store's fall fashion season -- and to benefit The Art Institute of Chicago.

Designers showing include Blumarine, Etro, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Varvatos, Just Cavalli, Matthew Williamson, Paul Smith, Dolce & Gabbana and Tuleh.

TV's "Fashion Police" Robert Verdi will emcee on the green carpet as celebs arrive starting about 6 p.m. The fashion show begins at 7:30 p.m. The B-52's, the East Village Opera Company and the Pussycat Dolls will perform.

Tony Okungbowa, the DJ on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," will work the turntables at the afterparty at the Marshall Field's State Street store, 111 N State.

Ryan Seacrest of "American Idol" will be at the show and introduce his new line of men's and women's shirts, called The R Line, on Saturday at the State Street store, second floor, from noon till 2 p.m.

The $1,000 tickets -- which get you the best seats in the house Friday, entree to the post-party and an VIP space therein -- are sold out, as are the $175 and $250 passes. But for $50, you can still get into the runway show.

Call Ticketmaster at (312) 902-1500 or visit or the Chicago Theatre box office for information.

*On Sunday, don't miss the annual "Chicago Is ... Red Hot!", a runway show that for the first time will feature 25 emerging Chicago area designers, at the Merchandise Mart. Sponsored by the Apparel Industry Board Inc., the 8:30 p.m. show kicks off with an invitation-only reception at 7 p.m. Call (312) 836-1041 for tickets ($150, $250).

I'm really proud of him... I'm just sad. I wish I can be there to suport him, but I don't have the money right now. Bills come first...
