(Graphics) Re-sizing images
It is recommended that you choose your favorite graphics program to re-size your image.

By using HTML code to re-size any image you are only fooling the browser into displaying the image at a size smaller or larger than it was intended to display.
An image re-sized in such a way will pixelate or become fuzzy or blurred.

By using Paint Shop Pro, Irfanview or Photoshop/Image ready you can re-size an image, save a copy locally, and then upload the re-sized image to your web host.

Note: Please check the relevant help file for your favorite graphics progam for resizing images or optimising images.

By using the above method, the image should be smaller in size (dimensionaly and physically in Kb's)

Online image optimizers
You can also use online image optimisers instead of software that you may or may not be able to afford.

Gif Cruncher and JPEG Cruncher
www.spinwave.com/crunchers.html

Myimager.com
www.myimager.com/myImager.cfm?p=open&f=0
200K limit, gif and jpegs.

If you know of any other online image optimisers that should be included here, please send a PM to atlass or nutrocker

More from Silent Dawnn

GifWorks

This site will help you crop, resize and change color of any animated gif image.
Animations take a page forever to load so resizing and cropping is a great idea.

Spinwave

This site will help you COMPRESS any gif and jpg files..its good to use especially on huge files and webpage backgrounds..a good pointer is if you don't want a huge lag on your board, compress your backgrounds down to 50000 or less...any larger and your pages will be slow.
