I M Tired of IMs from strangers!
Okay, so I'm on yahoo...publicly for the authors and people I meet online. I only have one or two contacts that are not book or publishing related.

What I'm complaining about are these men that im me trying to get a date (or whatever). First....they type like a 12 year old (which they could very well be sometimes I suppose):

I M Sam. Who R U?

That just pisses me off. It's not like the words "am" "are" and "you" are some long ass words. And it's not like it's a phrase shortened like brb or np. Just random words replaced with a freakin letter. Like a first grader who is just learning to write or something...I always think they should have a key that goes ahead and reverses the r. Ugh.

Then, I try at first to be polite and tell them I'm not interesting in chatting with someone I don't know. They continue...cause you know harrassing a woman and begging for attention ALWAYS in any situation wins a woman's favor immediately! Come on....even if I was interested in adult chatting I write ROMANCE idiot. You have to be smoother than "R U Nekkid?"

And last...if I wanted to watch some ugly guy sitting in a ratty bathrobe with his beer belly pushed aside so he could touch his little pecker while grunted and breathing heavy with *gag* sweat collecting and running over a huge grey wad of belly button lint, I live in Mississippi...I could see it first hand here. I wouldn't have to log on to the internet.

Okay...done ranting.

Okay, I have to say I agree. How I'm getting on these people's radar is beyond me. I got one the other day from some guy who called himself "marine_force" and actually had a profile, but I had NO Idea who he was. THen he wanted to ADD Me to his LIST!

I think not.

I blocked him. What's up with that, anyhow?

And, I totally agree with you on the "netspeak." To me, it just SCREAMS "I'm really a thirteen-year-old trying to pretend I'm older and way cool."

Ugh.
