I have a question?
Ok, now that Al is in Micheal's body, will he know things that Micheal knew or will he be all Al. Like Micheal worked in the hospital, would Al be able to continue the work there or not? and also Micheal's memories, will Al know his relations, like his brother John or not?
I would probably say that he doesn't know all this stuff since Micheal technically died. which could present a conflict for Al on top of the getting Marcie to fall for him in Micheal's body. I would think it would be a lot more interesting to see how Al deals with running into people who he should know as Micheal but doesn't.
What do you ladies think?

I've been wondering the same thing, waiting for someone to ask Al to take care of a patient.. that should be fun.... I haven't heard about how they are going with it. I actually wondered if he'll get some of Michael's memories and be able to do it, even if he doesn't understand how he knows how... I figure it should be fun either way...
I hadnt thought about how he'll deal with people that Michael knows... I did have some theories about others figuring it out before Marcie though.. like Natalie who has proven fun in terms of manipulating Al when she has the goods on him... only this time, its not for Jen.. its for a girl who LOVES her Al... Marcie.
Excerpt I love from Luisa Valenzuela's The Lizard's Tale: I have my obsessions, I have my fear that drags me along. I’ve been woven into a network of fears, they cross back and forth over my head, they close me in like an enormous web spun by a spider in the reeds, black and precise, malefically beautiful. This net of fears, this geometric pattern, I go on weaving it too without knowing why, without understanding it. I would like to decipher a small end of it at least, a point in the web, so as to go along unwinding the infernal plot, but I’m not permitted that either. Some of my dearest friends have been… running all kinds of risks, and here I am messing around, talking about a spiderweb that entraps me, putting myself into poetic images. The worst thing is that I can glimpse it so clearly, something woven by clusters of black spiders, crouching in wait for their prey, a broad, mile-wise web with us as the prey, and the spiders too.
This is a picture of a wall at the OLTL studio back in 95. My picture is the one on the right, 3rd up from the bottom. These pictures were up at the studio because the stage manager wanted to show everyone who they were talking to online. For some reason the writers haven't explained this very well, but they did give us a little more to work with today. When Al couldn't say his name, only Michael's, I realized that Michael is still in there. So there are two forces within one body, each vying for control. Right now Al's at the forefront, probably because of Luna's presence and his desire to be with Marcie. But eventually Michael will show through more, he'll be doing more Michael-like things. I imagine the first time he's asked to do something medical, Al panics but then Michael's skills take over. He goes on autopilot, so to speak.
We're still seeing so much of Al right now, even the temper he displayed today was Al. I think Al and Michael will eventually blend into one soul and one person, the person Marcie falls in love with. Then at the very last minute she realizes Al is in Michael, thus saving him from being whisked away to heaven once again. But there will be aspects of Michael that she'll love too. Maybe he'll become less of a workaholic and do some volunteer work at the community center, giving out flu shots or free checkups or something.
But in the end NM has to create a new character, a mix of both Michael and Al. That has to be a challenge an actor can sink his teeth into.

i am pretty sure that I read that part of Michael is still present and that Al has his memories. I believe that while we haven't seen it yet, the writers will explain it more clearly soon. Al as Michael will have to go back to work and I imagine it will be hilarious to see until Al gets adjusted. We haven't seen it yet bcuz Al is still focused soley on Marcie. But he still has Michael's knowledge base as well as his own history. Al will also be responsible for maintaing and/or fixing Michael's other relationships (ie John).

It should make for some good conflict between Al and Micheal fighting for control over the body. Al trying to be himself while dealing with Micheal trying to keep control of the body. Al having to try to keep control of all that, as well as, his mission to win back Marcie and having to remember that he's not Al anymore(in body anyways) and people aren't gonna see him that way. All said and done NM's role in the whole thing will definitely make this quality, no way in hell am I gonna miss the SL, tv and to top it off we essentially get to see Marcal magic all over again Afterall Marcie didn't like Al at first either.

It makes me wonder if he will eventually morph into some fusion of both of these men... I can't help but wonder if they can indefinitely have NM playing someone who is Al but not in his body. The good citizens of Llanview realize its Al, and he gets plastic surgery to be Al again.. NO, obviously. Will the man who plays Michael's body eventually get the role? If so, what happens to NM? I mean, after today, its all too obvious that NM is the man this show better know to keep.
I'm only interested in speculation, because in all honesty.. how can anyone WORRY on a day like today? And how can anyone WORRY anyways? NM is so obviously not going anywhere (unless he wanted to). The man is on FIRE!

I think the fact that they haven't shown the other actor at all pretty much cements that NM's here to stay (as long as he wants to, anyway). He'll become a blend of Michael and Al, a totally new character but with recognizable traits. We'll see Dr. Michael McBain and his personality at the hospital and with his brother, but I think we'll see more of Al coming through when he's with Marcie, i.e. the perfect boyfriend will be back. This is after Valentine's Day, of course.

I agree they r gonna blend the 2.
I wouldn't be surprised if after Feb. they explain away the absence of Michael's face completely by switching faces with Al. Bcuz when Al's spirit takes over Michael's body, Al Holden will pretty much be gone. I mean we know, but to the rest of Llanview he will be a Mcbain.
I don't think they r gonna make him perfect boyfriend completely again. At least i hope not. That would put them in the same position they felt was ok to get rid of Al in the 1st place, wouldn't it? I think Michael will be a work in progress. Michael could have all kind of skeletons lurking in his closet that could cause him to backslide and put Al in all kinds of scrapes.

Good point, and I agree. I guess I was thinking more in terms of the cuddling and kissing, affection part of their relationship. That was always done so well. But yeah, no perfection, that gets stale quick, at least for me.
I also think that over time, especially once Gabby is gone and Marcie and Michael are together, that Al won't be mentioned at all. New viewers will only know NM as Michael, and Al no longer has any ties in Llanview. Burying his body in Argentina was another way to totally eradicate the Holdens from Llanview, Marcie doesn't even have a grave to visit. Its sad and its a shame, especially if Gabby dies. But we do have NM, the McBain s/l and the fight to win Marcie's heart. I'm hanging on to the good stuff while its here.

Oh, we will definately...
have major kissage. I think after yesterday's show we know Al has a hard time keeping his lips off Marcie. The hugging is just a few months around the corner. Then come the Marcal fireworks.
