Tox, I thought you had a toon on Bedever as well.
Anyways... due to the seeming disapearance of the CD population on gawaine I too rolled out a toon on Bed. Lvl 16 valewalker so far thats pretty fun to play. I am going to make trips back into gawaine from time to time to see whats happening... and maybe get into some guild activity.
It just seems that as of late, even pre-SB, CD things have gone away. Instead of a guild, its felt more like 100 people that all just happen to have the same fashion sense for cloak designs. I have a feeling now that there has been a large exodus to SB (and inevitably when SWG comes out) that one of 2 things is going to happen with CD on gawaine, depending on management. The guild is either going to implode, or a house cleaning can happen and it can do the proverbial "from the ashes" thing and be a tight, happening group again.
Who knows, maybe the guild had exceeded its maximum lifetime. You have some people absolutely fed up with the beginning game that feel its their right to push their beliefs about a game onto others, and another entirely different population that can't/doesn't want to be involved in the "end-game" (which I don't think truly exists, as the game cannot end. As El put it, "its purpose is to entertain and waste time"). Maybe its demographics, maybe its philosophy, maybe its the max life-time for a guild... and its time to move to a different game. Who knows. BTW, to all those that have been trying to fight the seemingly inevitable, thanks... you fought the good fight. 
Regardless, I am not abandoning the server or guild and if anyone needs anything, or if there is some event lemme know either here or on the message of the day.
