If the Dresden Files was a TV show. . .
Who would play who? I think we'd already established we'd love to see James Marsters playing Harry. But what about some of the other characters. For some reason whenever I picture Morgan I always think Harrison Ford with longer hair.

I've always pictured Morgan as JR Bourne - I just think he'd make a great Morgan - personality-wise (make-up can make him look older if necessary) --
Murphy? hmmmm - I'd like to see someone like Teryl Rothery do that - b/c I think she could pull it off - and I think she should have a chance at a role of something that ISN'T in the medical profession!
Lemme think about the others and I'll come back --

Um - the pic - you have to join the group to see it - and I didn't join the group - was kinda in the middle of something else at the time -- but I'll try to look --
JR Bourne and Teryl Rothery were both on Stargate SG-1 (Teryl still is) ---
I met JR at Gatecon last year - the man is a riot! And he's got some skills - and he's just got the right personality to pull off Morgan. Give him a ponytail and a make-up job - he'd be great. if you wanna see some pics - hit my website - there are still some of him up there -- (I think) -- or you can go here: www.jr-bourne.com
hmmmmm --
The voice of Bob - that's a tough one - mostly b/c I'm kinda partial to the way JM did it for the audiobook - he is just so fun! I love Bob! Although, i think someone like Alexis Denisof could pull it off nicely...

Re: hm..
RDA? Love him lots - but as he's 'quitting' TV after Stargate's done -- not expecting to see him around ---- And RDA's a smidge older than what Harry's supposed to be -- not that he'd be a bad Harry - he'd be an AWESOME!! Harry -- I'm just on a James Marsters kick about now --
Jim's said that he pictures Morgan kinda like a 'not-quite' Sean Connery (he says that in the books) --
Re: hm..
Hummmmm.. I think that Jim had a very good idea at who could play Harry on screen.... he suggest Vincent Ventresca (he played the Invisible Man).. and I do agree with him.. he would make a perfect Harry!!!.. very tall and slim. I did watch Invisible Man, (I loved that show!!!*sigh*)..and I do think that he could really be Harry... wise crack and all!..

Re: hm..
I'm still on the "James Marsters should be Harry Dresden" boat - but if someone gets a show going, even if JM's not in it - I'll give it a look-see --- see if they're keepin' it as close to the 'feel' of the books as possible -
I just have this pic of JM being Harry - even tho he's not quite tall enough - b/c JM has talent oozing from every pore of his body ---- (and that kinda sounds really gross) --
Re: hm..
I have to say that James Marsters is stuck in my head as Harry after hearing him read storm front. Besides, he's got the look as well as the acting ability.
As for the others: for Suzan, I could definitely see Jessica Alba! For Murphy, either Renee O'Connor or Nana Visitor as they both have the moxie. For Bianca, I'd say Jerri Ryan... perfect!
Re: hm..
Somehow I see James Marsters as doing Bob's voice. I listened to some of the clips from the audio books and I love how he does Bob. Very funny. Either him or Alexis Denisof.
And for Harry....definetly Vincent Ventresca. Saw him on The Invisible Man and said "Who in all seven hells is THAT?!" (which translates to - in simple terms - he's cute) He's the only actor I know that fits my mental image of Harry.

Re: hm..
I was listening to "Fool Moon" in the car today - like I have been for like the last 2 weeks - and I had a thought today -
I think Juliet Landau would make a quite nice Tera -- she could probably pull of Susan too, but that might be a little too much like Spike / Dru if we get JM as Harry -- but it would be kinda cool. She's a beautiful woman and a talented actress...
Re: hm..
I'll go w/ you for her as Tera, Highlander. And agree with you about it being like a big Buffy reunion (or small if you want to be technical) if she played Susan and JM played Harry. But if he didn't, I think she could do it. Be interesting. ^^

Re: hm..
Personally - I'd like a tv series - esp if JM were cast as Harry.
But a movie run could work too - kinda like the Harry Potter flix -- each of the Dresden books could be a movie -
Budget would be a big thing - if it was a TV series, it might start off kinda like BtVS did - with mostly cheap-ish effects until they got a good fan base and the like - then build up. But w/ CGI - it's a bit easier to make cool demons and stuff w/o make-up ppl - but you have to be able to afford the CG artists and such.
If it was a movie - still budget constraints - I don't know a whole big bunch about makin' movies or tv shows - but everything costs money --
Either would work for me - my only reason for going w/ TV is if JM is Harry - more James!!
Re: hm..
*laugh*.... you and James!!!... *hehe*... an obsession!!... but I do understand you.. for I am obsess ... body and soul by... Re: hm..
I am not obsessed - heavily interested, but not obsessed. Obsession is when the person/thing completely takes over your life -- if JM did that - I'd *never* get anything done...
but - the man is wonderful and talented and hey - weren't we dreamcasting the Dresden files as a TV show??
