Is there a good age to stop breastfeeding?
I nursed both of my children until they were about 10 months....but I was wondering, is there a "good" age to start weaning them?
I have breast fed all my children. They all weaned themselves. Except #4 who is still breast feeding at 9 months old. THe first 2 were younger in age but I was working at the time and had to supplement with a bottle. My 3rd child weaned himself right about 12 months. I believe in letting them wean themselves. The longer you can breast feed I believe its better for them. Hope this helps.

I breastfeed mine until about 9 months when she weaned herself. I do believe it's best to do it as long as you can because it is healthier.

That's a great topic for a thread! I would have to say the same as the other ladies. Child-led weaning is best. The longer the child can reap the bennies of mom's milk, the better. Did you know the composition of your milk changes to fit the needs of the child as the child ages? That's right! I read about that a while back that the mothers milk has different properties at different times. Pretty sleek design the Lord gave our milk, huh?! Can't say that about "Devil Juice" oops I mean Enfamil LOL!
