Is your web host blocking hot linked images?
Hotlinking or bandwidth stealing:
My best description...
Images are hosted on a web server (A) owned by web host (A.)

Internet user copies the URL of an image from web server (A) to use/display the image on a bulletin board or a website, either the board or website is most likely hosted on web server (B) owned by web host (B.)

Web host's (A) bandwidth (or traffic) is used to display the image from web server (A) on the website or board(B.)
Thus web host (A) has to pay for the bandwidth/traffic to display an image on a server they do not control nor pay for. = (B)

So, web host (A) uses hotlinking/bandwidth stealing protection measures to ensure no one can display images on any one's web server except their own saving valuable bandwidth and money.

If you are seeing broken images, red x's then it is worth checking if your web server or web host allows hot linking. Not all of them allow hot linking and you need to check any terms and conditions provided by the web host.

Try this online tool I came across recently, it's easy enough to use and quick.

Online Hotlinking Checker

If you know your web server/web space is working and you can connect to it, upload to it, see web pages hosted on it, but you see red x's for your images used on third party servers, then the web host is most likely blocking hot linking.
It's time to look for another web host if you want to use some of your web space for images used on your ezboard.
