I've always wondered this about S&B....

I really think that they would have gotten married if Maurice hadn't left because how can you deny such a powerful couple with uncomparable chemistry. And plus, they had a very strong fanbase which I think TPTB would have listened to, unlike today
Do you think that if Vanessa had stayed on GH this time around, S&B would have had a chance again? Which by the way, I was so mad that Sonny and Brenda didn't even get the chance to have that many scenes together.
But I have to say, I loved the scene when Brenda was talking to Sonny through the wall at the safe house, and then they had a memory montage and then their song...how can anyone deny such powerful chemistry even through a wall. *Swoon*

You would think so wouldn't you? TPTB seemed to really care what the fans wanted back then and I think the writers actually do like/love S&B.

I think S&B would have had a WAY better chance had Vanessa stayed! That would have been a FAR more believable story then the use of a fake Leelee to break up S&C! Sorry but when it come to knowing Sonny? Carly doesn't hold a candle to Brenda IMHO It is just that TIIC think fans won't notice when they completely REWRITE history. Or if the do remember we will notice, they seem to think it's ok to neglect history, MORONS! In my opinion, if ANYONE is Sonny's "great love," her name is BRENDA not Carly.

ICAM with you! And personally I think GH could have done a lot more to keep Vanessa. GH's ratings were at their highest for the year when Vanessa was back and I don't buy that they didn't have the money to keep her. That's a cop out. If they wanted her bad enough they would nothave let her go. I think they were setting up for Brenda to come between S&C. When you take into account that GH is filming about 3 weeks ahead of what we see on screen, they had to have done some MAJOR rewriting for Vanessa to exit.

S&B would have definitely gotten married had Maurice stayed in 1997. Culliton really loved S&B.
I also agree that S&B would have gotten together had VANESSA stayed. Actually they were going in that direction but TIIC could not meet Vanessa's demands at a lighter work schedule. I had very reliable sources that S&B were going to get together. Sigh. Too bad S&B's love story is always halted by actor exits.
The vent scenes were one of my favorites from her return! Absolutely spectacular!

Oh I wish he hadn't left when he did and they had gotten married. The Wedding would have been So beautiful.
