Among 18 to 49-year-olds, ABC had the advantage with a 3.7 to CBS' 3.4. NBC was in third here as well with a 2.8 to FOX's 1.9. The WB took a 1.2, while UPN languished courtesy of a .7.
At 8 p.m., CBS started its winning night with the series premiere of "Joan of Arcadia," 8.5/16, while the season premiere of "George Lopez" filled an hour on ABC. "Reba" and "Like Family" joined forces to give The WB a 2.1/4 and UPN reaired back-to-back episodes of "The Mullets."
CBS had the No. 1 show of the night at 9 p.m. with the season premiere of "JAG," 8.9/16. "Hope & Faith," 7.6/14, started the hour nicely for ABC, although "Life with Bonnie," 6.2/11, took a bit of the blush off the rose.
