Re: Joining...
Oh, I have enough with one welcome, but if you are that kind, to welcome me so many times...
Feedback, let me think.. To start I like a *lot* the layout (but, to be honest, blue has been always my fav colour, ahem, perhaps you have noticed it if you look at the couple of boards we play together)
I think I might suggest new forums to add to the discussion areas (no, not know, atm all I could suggest is to search for a bed to slep ) but next week or so.
And now I'm going to check that quote game... and to challenge you with another, in retribution :P
Nolen
Btw, "Plotbunnies/Challenges" are for drabbles etc?
Re: Joining... sure, I am always happy for suggestions, especially for new forums! Don't worry, I can wait until you are less usy. I have a lot of work to do around here already anyway.

Challenge accepted I will head there right away.

If 'drabbles' are little storyideas or short outlines that someone posts to challenge someone else to write a fanfic based on that, yes.
Re: Joining...
Welcome Nolendur! Oh yes, this place is for fans of the Silmarillion as well as all Tolkien's works. I better head over to that quiz game. Hm....I'm terrible at them, but enjoy reading them anyway, and sometimes I even guess one!
Re: Joining...
Hello everyone! I am so happy to have been invited here. I am not familiar with the Silmarillion -- yet -- but that will change. I look forward to chatting, discussion, rpg-ing, and generally making new friends!
Quote:Since I'm not sure if we should reply the members' posts (in the members' thread I mean :P), I do here:
It's not expected, but we won't eat anyone who does either. It's pretty much free.
Quote:I haven't read the Silmarillion properly
Oh yes indeed, you should. The first time I read it I could hardly remember anything, not figure out was really who, so much wealth is there. But the second read is a feast!
Re: Joining...
I am late, but thank you kindly, Nolendur, about what my name translates to. I like it! Read the Silmarillion: Yes, I certainly will! It does sound like a rich feast.
Re: Joining...
Heya Ventresss, and welcome to MiME!
The Silmarillion can be a bit tough to read the first time, yep, especially the Ainulindalė and the Valaquenta (about the creation of the World and the Valar), but hopefully you would find it more interesting once you begin with the Quenta Silmarillion chapters.
Some people complains also because there is a lot of characters but, IMHO, there is a lot too in LOTR, so... I would suggest you to keep an eye on the index of names and family trees while reading (and the map).
And, of course, we're here to help you with your questions, if need be!
Re: Joining...
A belated welcome from me, too, Ventresss. As the others already said, feel free to ask any question that might come up. That is what the board is there for; to talk, have fun, and enjoy Tolkien's work together.
