Synchronization Issues
Our dev team needs more time to resolve the server synchronization issues that appeared after the 7.31p patch. As a short-term solution we have decided to rollback the new server synchronization code back to the pre-7.31p version. This change will revert server synchronization back to the way it was last Tuesday ( 7/7/04) and it should fix all the current production synchronization issues.
Note: We are only rolling back the new server synchronization code changes that were made in 7.31p.
This short-term fix may result in some of the 7.31p bug fixes resurfacing. After discussing this possibility with our development team, we decided this outcome is acceptable for the short-term because the synchronization issues are causing major problems for many ezboard users and admins.
At 3:55pm PDT on 7/12/04 we reverted to the pre-7.31p server synchronization code.
Network Slowness
After studying the log files and we saw a increase in request times across the network. This was traced this back to last week's 7.31p release. Our dev team has a theory on what is causing this problem they are currently investigating this theory. A fix for this problem will not go out until tomorrow, 7/13/04, at the earliest.
update: July 9, 5:30 PM PDT
We have fixed the following 7.31p bugs:
- Local Users Inbox Messages Going Blank

A second bug we have seen is that for really large boards, you still can't sort the memberlist by supporters and non-supporters. It should be working for the majority of boards though.
3rd bug: There have been some synchrinization problems between servers: your profile may be different on different servers, you may get logged out when moving between servers, etc.Other symptoms: recent posts list may be different, mark forum read not sticking when moving between servers, recently purchased ezsupporter only working on the server you bought it from.
All of these are I think from the same cause which is data not synchronizing between servers. This was reportedly fixed Friday and for some users they say it is fixed, but others report it has not improved or has gotten worse. We will be working on this again on Monday.

Quote:...you may get logged out when moving between servers, etc. This should be fixed now, some code was just released which is supposed to fix these syncing problems.
I experienced this logged out issue last night, and for most of the day today it has been a non-issue, but it is back, and is just as bad if not worse than before.
What I really want to know is WHERE, in the maze of all these help forums, I should expect to go to find answers to this oft-reported recent bug.
Where is the latest information from the techies who are working on this issue?

The sticky topics will have staff updates on any/all bugs associated with this release. I agree that the server synchronization issues, with logout problems, mark forum read problems, etc, are not fixed. I've been seeing this myself today. I am going to recache the accounts of anyone who posted here with these problems, but it may not solve it. I think it will have to be fixed on the network level on Monday.

Just thought I'd report continued logout problems on p076.ezboard.com/bventboard with quite a few users.
Thanks for working to resolve whatever is causing this.

I don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere, but the "log out" problem is not just happening when you move between servers. I've had it happen while marking a forum read or just moving between forums, as well as moving between boards. That's just since the "fix". Before that I rarely had a problem with it.

puzzlegoddess: This topic is the sticky topic. This is where we will post updates on all 7.31p bugs and fixes. You don't need to report a bug which is already listed, because it is a known bug that is being worked on.

The developers are working on it now. I will post any updates when I get them. I do not have an eta for the fix.

Another bug which can affect ezInbox use is the "error on message load" message which one might encounter. When replying to a private message using the "(history)" option, the history of the message can be replaced with this error message.
The good news, however, is that the error message does seem to go away without fail. Therefore, one should not delete such messages out of frustration. It could stop happening on the first attempt at going back and re-replying to the message. Or, it might require a break of a few minutes from the account's ezInbox (the user should go and do other ezboard stuff if it persists).
edit (7/15/04): This bug should be fixed going forward. If it continues to hinder your ezInbox experience, however, let us know.

I, as well as many of my members, are constantly getting kicked back to the log-in screen. It happens between boards, in the same board, and between a board and control center. I am also getting kicked back out to the MBA page.
Is this a problem with the individual, or with the board itself??

Just wondering if there's an update on bug #2, member list sorting by supporter status. I realize this isn't an operation-critical bug, but it would be a tool we could use in trying to control our non-supporter bandwidth consumption.
Posted: 7/27/04 15:12 Re: Known bugs with this patch
Okie that bug unfortunately won't be fixed in tomorrow's patch, but I do know that the ezsupporters views will still go into the ezsupporter view column in your stats, and thus you are not paying for them, even if the user doesn't show correctly as an ezsupporter in the memberlist. When that bug started I tested this and the views counter does recognize their ezsupporter status even if the memberlist doesn't display it.
