Re: Looking for Salad/veggie recipe for Thanksgiving
I had dinner with friends the other night and had an awesome dish. I am not sure how it was made but together we may be able to wing it.
fresh green beans
wrap in bacon. good bacon not the cheap kind.
in a 6x9 dish, bake with some brown sugar sprinkled over it.
sweet to your taste i would imagine and i don't know how long it was baked but just eyeball it till the bacon is done.
I swear it was so good my steak got cold while i ate these and thats a huge complement from a Texas boy.

Perone- are you talking wrapping the individual beans in bacon? I am lookin gfor some green bean based dish to pass this Sunday, so feel free to add to Morro's thread here please!
Re: Wrapped Walnuts
/bonk Maui! Yeah that would win the Martha Stewart tedious food preparation award for sure! But what I did wind up doing with the green beans for my party yday was just blanching them and tossing them with some garlic and wine dry seasoning, crumbled cooked bacon, and slivered almonds. They turned out suprisingly good! The vodka and tonic(s) helped too I suppose... hehe!
