As the name indicates...this RPG will revolve around Crossroads and New Beginnings.CrossroadsWe would like to see characters come to a 'crossroads' in their lives where important and life changing decisions have to be made. These events can be very personal...i.e. a relationship beginning, ending or changing, or they can be moral or spiritual. Whatever is decided, they should show 'growth' for your character.New BeginningsThis can be any number of items as well and most likely will relate back to the 'crossroads' in your character(s)' life or lives and/or career. They may be starting a new career as teacher or student at Xavier's School for the Gifted or may have been selected to train for the upcoming X-Men team(s). Their 'new beginning' once again may be as simple as establishing a new relationship or changes in an old one.

Midnight RiderWho: Mason Fireheart With: Anyone interested When: Sunday, May 15th, 7:15AM Where: Road outside the Xavier Institute to front grounds Warning Mild profanity
Mason Fireheart balanced the heavy bike, drew off his helmet, and regarded the roadblock with what could most charitably be described as disfavor. He'd left Boston in the wee hours of the morning in hopes of avoiding traffic, especially of the Sunday driver variety. And, even detouring around New York City, he'd made good time ... only to be stopped so frustratingly close to his goal. He could just glimpse the Institute through the trees. He was tired and, now, cranky. Even with the modifications he'd made to his hand, steering along with manipulating the throttle and front brake had put a lot of stress on it. His arm ached all the way up to his shoulder.
One of the men manning the barricades finally bothered to amble in Mason's direction, meeting the mutant's scowl with the smug indifference pefected by the civil servant breed. "Road's closed to all but residents, sir," he drawled. "You'll have to go around."
Mason kept a tight rein on his temper. "Go around to where? I live there." A jerk of a thumb indicated the Institute. "And what the hell is this?"
The man seemed to consider that for a long time, growing, if anything, even more laconic. Finally: "Trouble here last night. Riot at the concert. Need to see some ID."
Concert? Mason wondered, handing over his drivers license. What concert? That demo thing? But it had always been held on the other side of town because of the noise. Why put it on the Institute's doorstep?
The man took his sweet time examining the license, even holding it up to the light and tilting it to examine the hologram, and Mason resisted the urge to test his hand's dexterity by drumming his fingers. The guard was doing this deliberately, and expressions of impatience would only encourage him. Finally, almost grudgingly, the man handed the license back and turned to stroll with agonizing slowness over to shift one of the barricades.
Grumbling inwardly, Mason put his license away, redonned his helmet, and rolled past the roadblock. This was not good, he thought, passing through the gates into the grounds. Not good at all. He needed to find out what was going on. He looked around as he rode up the front drive. He had to find some--
"What the?!?"
Catching sight of the green ship, the flying bridge hovering silver above it, he almost went off the drive and into a patch of azaleas.
"Oh, hello Mr. Fireheart," Kurt said as he caught sight of him and then added. "I think Mr. Worthington is still in his office you need to see him.
Kurt then turned around and blinked, throwing his arms back in surprise.
"I didn't know it could do that..."
He turned around again, and this time instead of blinking and throwing his arms about he only gasped. "Oh! That's right! News van! Sorry! Have to go! Sorry!" he said in full blue and furry form, referring the FOX Television news van pulling up outside the locked and secured gate.
Re: Midnight RiderWho: Mason Fireheart With: Anyone interested & Whale group When: Sunday, May 15th, 7:15AM Where: Front grounds to Jonah's Whale
Bringing the Harley back under control, Mason coasted to a stop off to one side of the drive. Gaze fixed on the ship, he turned off the engine and kicked down the stand. What on earth was that thing, he wondered. And what was it doing here?
His bike left forgotten behind, Mason headed across the lawn. Craning his neck to look up at the ship, he walked around it and then under it, finally stopping near the hatch. After a moment's hesitation, he reached out to rest his hand on the hull, extending his power into it.

Mason jumped about a foot at the sound, followed by the distinct scent of brimstone drifting on the summer air. Turning, he found the fuzzy blue elf practically jittering in place.
"Oh, hello Mr. Fireheart," Kurt said as he caught sight of him and then added. "I think Mr. Worthington is still in his office you need to see him.
Mason opened his mouth to reply, but was still sorting through which question to ask first when Kurt turned to stare at the ship.
"I didn't know it could do that..."
Mason shut his mouth, then opened it again, only to be forestalled once more.
"Oh! That's right! News van! Sorry! Have to go! Sorry!" he said in full blue and furry form, referring the FOX Television news van pulling up outside the locked and secured gate.

This, Mason thought, could not possibly be good. With a last longing glance at the ship, he turned back toward the mansion. He could find out what Mr. Worthington needed, and perhaps get some of his own questions answered as well.
Note: Edited to incorporate crossposting. Question: Since they're technically still just students and former students, do characters who didn't go on the Olympia mission have code names yet?
Background: Many, many years ago, Charles Francis Xavier established Xavier's School for the Gifted. Also, seeing other Mutants misusing and abusing their powers, he created the first generation of the X-Men.This original team was trained and lead by an old friend of his...Logan, aka Wolverine. Logan's co-leader was a young woman and student named Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Once the team was trained and fielded on active missions, they took on the additional responsibility of teaching and helping new Mutants deal with their powers. On one horrible night, the X-Men were fielded to stop a particularly powerful Mutant and his 'gang'. The 'intelligence' received on this Mutant and his cohorts was sketchy and actually turned out to be a set-up to entrap the X-Men and take them captive. In the ensuing melee', 'things' happened and a number of the team were killed outright or severely injured. After making sure his remaining team-mates were going to be okay, Logan left. Xavier has not, to current time, explained his absence or even whether or not he survived.Current Time/Game Time: Almost seven years later, as Human/Mutant incidents are on the rise, Xavier once again sees a need for a Mutant 'police force'. He sees this new X-Men team as a force for good and a way to help peacefully integrate the rapidly emerging Mutant society with the established Human society. To this end, he has contacted Logan and asked him to 'come home' and train his 'new' team.
Logan has reluctantly agreed. Can shadows from their past be put aside for the good of the new X-Men? How will the surviving members of the original team react and what will they do as 'truths' are learned about that disastrous night?Note: We want the new X-Men to include younger versions of the old familiar characters such as Scott, Jean, Beast etc...as well as many of the OCC’s and other Canon characters that are available. Please ask the Staff BEFORE stating or establishing that your character was one of the old, now disbanded, original X-Men.
