Muhammad's Believe It Or Not
The Islamic religion doesn't only have the quran, but they also have another book called the hadith. It's a collection of early muslim traditions which record the words and deeds of Muhammad according to his multiple wives, family members, friends, and muslim leaders which are not found in the quran. [psst, it is very informative about jihad (muslim religious war ) and I think President Bush would find it informative ]
While there are muslims who do not accept the haddith, there are those that do. Muslim scholar, Dr. Muhammad Hamidullah in his book, "Introduction to Islam, says that "the custodian and repository of the original teachings of Islam" are found "ABOVE ALL in the Quran and the Hadith" [page 250 ]. To this, Hamidullah adds that "the Quran and the Hadith" are "the basis of all [Islamic] law" [page 163 ]
The reason according to Dr. Hamidullah that muslims revere the hadith as well as the quran is that the hadith is as divinely inspired as the quran itself! He says,
Quote: "The teachings of Islam are based primarily on the Quran and the Hadith, and, as we shall presently see, both are based on divine inspiration"
[page 23 ]
This is why muslim writers such as Hammudullah Abdalatati in his book, Islam In Focus (The Muslim Converts' Association of Singapore, Singapore, 1991 ), said that the hadith is "considered the Second Source of Islam" because,
Quote: "all the articles of faith....are based upon and derived from the teachings of the Quran and the Traditions [hadith ] of Muhammad"

Thus it's no surprise to find that the material in the hadith is considered inspired and authoritive to orthodox muslims. The following is from the 9 volume translation of the hadith by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan titled, The Translation of the Meaning of Sahih Al-Bukhari (Kazi Publications, Lahore, Pakistan, 1979 ). It's recommended and it is also approved by all the spiritual heads of Mecca and Medina. Dr. Khan's work is a faithful translation of the hadith put together by none other than a terrific hadtih scholar, Al-Bukhari. The introduction says,
Quote: "It has been unanimously agreed that Iman Bukhari's work is the most authentic of all the other works in Hadith literature put together. The authenticity of Al-Bukhari's work is such that the religious learned scholars of Islam said concerning him: 'The most authentic book after the Book of Allah [i.e., the Quran ] is Sahih-Al-Bukhari"

Quote: "He only chose approximately 7275 [hadiths ] of which there is no doubt about their authenticity. [Allah ] revealed to him the Glorious Quran and the Second Inspiration, i.e., his Traditions. It is incumbent upon you to strive hard to do righteous deeds according to the traditions of Muhammad as is clearly expressed in his Hadith"

Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan doesn't hesitate to describe the hadith as "the Second Inspiration" and to state that it is "incumbent" upon every muslim [including those who won't accept the hadith ] to believe and to obey it.
The reason why I am going to such lengths to prove that the highest muslim authorities of Islam approve of the hadith as equally inspired as the quran is that many muslims will deny this when confronted with the obviously ridiculous teachings of Muhammad. While they desperately want to maintain that Muhammad was allah's apostle and prophet, yet the hadith clearly reveals that Muhammad couldn't be a prophet of God. He taught many things that were not only wrong, but absolutely stupid.And also completely indefensible.
1. A Very, Very Big Adam
"The Prophet said, 'Allah created Adam, making him 60 cubits tall." [hadith vol. 4, num. 543 ]
Adam was 90 ft. tall?! How tall was Eve and their children? Noah, a descendant of Adam, how could he, with all the animals and his family, fit into the ark being that tall? Yehoshua, a later descendant of Noah, why wasn't HE that tall? Why not us?
2. What To Do When A Fly Falls Into Your Cup
"The Prophet said 'If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink ), for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease." [vol. 4, num. 537 ]
Bottoms up!!
3. No Doggies Allowed
Angels wouldn't enter a house if a dog is there according to vol. 4, no. 539. Thus vol 4, no. 540, says,
"Allah's Apostle ordered that the dogs should be killed."
Dog lovers sure wouldn't make good muslims. So much for man's best friend.
4. Genetics Accoring to Muhammad
Muhammad claimed that Gabriel gave him the secret as to why a child looks like its father or its mother. This answer was given to "prove" that Muhammad was allah's apostle. He says,
"As for the resemblance of the child to its parents: If a man has sexual intercourse with his wife and gets a discharge first, the child will resemble the father, and if the woman gets her discharge first, the child will resemble her" [vol.4, no. 546 ]
What modern muslim is prepared to prove that one's "discharge" and not genetics is the key to the physical characteristics of one's children?
5. Stars Are Missiles
The stars were created by allah as missiles to throw at the devils according to Muhammad in vol. 4, chapter 3, page 282. Astronomers should be interested in this doctrine of Muhammad. Death from above.
6. Do As I Say But Not As I Do
Muhammad commanded everyone to have a will when he himself failed to make one.
"I asked Adullah bin Abu Aufa, 'Did the Prophet make a will?' He replied, 'No.' I asked him, 'How is it then that the making of a will has been enjoined on people?'" [vol. 4, nos.3-4 ]
7. What Is A Favorite Dish To Spirits?
Spirits eat pu-pu and bones according to Muhammad,
"When he finished, I walked with him and asked, 'What about the bone and the animal dung?' He said, 'They are the food of Jinns. The delegate of Jinns of (the city of ) Nasibin came to me--and how nice those Jinns were--and asked me for the remains of the human food. I invoked Allah for them that they would never pass by a bone or animal dung but find food on them" [vol. 5, no. 200 ]
This bit of information is as far out as one can go.
8. No Assurance
Muhammad has no assurance of salvation.
"The Prophet said, 'By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me." [vol. 5, no. 266 ]
9. Murder and Deceit
Muhammad agreed to the murder of a man through lies and deceit [vol. 5, no. 369 ]. He evidently didn't believe in the sanctity of truth and life, what a pity.
10. A Whole Lot Of Wings
According to Muhammad, Gabriel has 600 wings!!!
"I asked Sir about the Statement of Allah: 'And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even ) nearer. So did Allah convey the Inspiration to His slave (Gabriel ) and then he (Gabriel ) conveyed that to Muhammad.' (53:10 ) He said, 'Abdullah (bin Mas'ud ) informed us that Muhammad had seen Gabriel with six hundred wings." [vol. 6, no. 380 ]
Wow!
11. Do You Have The Devil Up Your Nose?
"The Prophet said, 'If anyone of you rouses from sleep and performs the ablution, he should wash his nose by putting water in it and then blow it out thrice, because Satan has stayed in the upper part of his nose all the night." [vol. 4, no. 516 ]
What muslim is willing to defend this strange practice and doctrine of Muhammad?
12. The Origin Of Fever
Muhammad believed that fever [when a person is sick ] is from the heat of hell.
"The Prophet said, 'Fever is from the heat of the [Hell ] fire, so cool it with water" [vol. 4, nos. 483-486 ]
All sorts of questions arise when you really think about this doctrine of Muhammad.
13. Have You Seen Noah's Ark Lately?
Noah's Ark appeared and floated in front of their eyes [vol. 6, no. 391, chapter 288 ]. How and Why this happened, we aren't told. This probably explains the UFO sightings.
14. The Devil Farts
"Allah's Apostle said, 'When the Adhan [the call to prayer ] for the prayer is pronounced, then Satan takes to his heels passing wind so that he may not hear the Adhan and when the Muadn finishes, he comes back;" [vol. 2, no 313, also no. 323 ]
The may explain why sometimes you hear something and go to look for it but don't find it. *sniff**sniff* By the way, don't you smell something evil?
15. WWF Wrestling With The Devil
"The Prophet once offered the prayer and said, 'Satan came in front of me and tried to interrupt my prayer, but Allah gave me an upper hand on him and I choked him." [vol. 2, no. 301 ]
16. Come And Get Your Dirty Water While Supplies Last
Muhammad's disciples would fight over who would get the dirty water left over from his washings. They would smear it on their bodies or drink it to secure a magical blessing from it [vol. 1, nos. 187-188 ]
First come, first serve.
17. Holy Spit
Even more disgusting was the practice of Muhammad spitting into the hands of his followers so they could smear his spit on their faces!
"By Allah, whenever Allah's Apostle spitted, the spittle would fall in the hand of one of them [i.e., the Prophet's companions ] who would rub it on his face and skin." [vol. 3, no. 891 ]
This explains why Muhammad smeared dead bodies with his spit [vol 2, nos. 360, 433 ]. Gross! "If you can't help at charter, please get help somewhere."
18. Satan Pee-Pee's In Your Ears
Satan urinates into the ears of those who fall asleep during prayers,
"It was mentioned before the Prophet that there was a man who slept the night till morning (after sinrise ). The Prophet said, 'He is a man whose ears (or ear ) Satan had urinated." [vol. 4, no. 492, also vol. 2, no. 245 ]
Before praying, get a good supply of cotton swabs, your going to need it.
19. A Lesson On Farting
Muhammad said if you commit the sin of "hadath" [the passing of wind through the anus, or for short, farting, cutting the cheese ] while you are in prayer, allah won't hear your prayers!!!!
"Allah's Apostle said, 'The angels keep on asking Allah's forgiveness for anyone of you, as long as he is at his Mu, salla (praying place ) and he does not pass wind (hadath ). They say, 'O Allah! Forgive him, O Allah! be merciful to him." [vol. 1, nos. 436, 466, 628; vol. 9, no. 86 ]
If you want your prayers answered, it's time to lay off Taco Bell.
20. Stinky Breath
Bad breath means that allah wouldn't hear your prayers. You cannot eat garlic, onions, or Taco Bell before engaging in prayer because allah will not hear you because your breath stinks! [vol. 1, nos. 812-815; vol. 7, nos. 362-363 ]
21. Yawning Mystery Solved
Yawning is from satan according to Muhammad in vol. 4, no 509.
From the evidence, it's clearly Muhammad who was offended by such things as farting, bad breath, and yawning. If allah is God, why would he be offended by the natural processes of the human body which HE made is not acceptable to the rational mind.
22. About Them Women
Muhammad taught that the majority of people in hell are women!
"The Prophet said, 'I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women" [vol. 1, nos. 28, 301; vol. 2, no. 161 ]
the reason why women are the majority in hell is explained by Muhammad,
"O Women! I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you." [vol. 2, no. 541 ]
Muhammad believed that women were "deficient in intelligence" and thus they shouldn't be given equal rights under Islamic law. For example, he legislated that a woman's testimony in court was worth only half of that of a man. Thus it would take the testimony of two women to offset the testimony of one man. Imagine what this would do to women who were raped!!!!!
"The Prophet said, 'Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?' The women said, 'Yes.' He said, 'This is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind." [vol. 3, no. 826 ]
Muhammad even ruled that women are to receive only half of what their brothers receive in inheritance [vol. 4, no. 10 ] Thus women are financially punished for being females.
23. A Lesson On Urine And Feces
Muhammad had a very strange obsession with urine and feces. In fact, he spent a alot of time teaching on where, when, and how to urinate and defecate. He was so obsessed with the subject that he taught that if someone got urine on his clothes or body, they suffered hellfire in the afterlife!
"One of the major sins is not to protect oneself [one's clothes and body ] from one's urine [i.e., from being soiled with it ]. Once the Prophet, while passing one of the grave-yards od Medina or Mecca, heard the voices of two persons being tortured in their graves. The Prophet then added, 'Yes! [they are being tortured for a major sin]. Indeed, one of them never saved himself from being soiled with his urine" [vol. 1, chapter 57, no. 215 ]
In vol. 2, no. 443, Muhammad said that people are tortured in hellfire because they soil themselves with urine. Yet, at the same time, Muhammad ordered people to drink camel urine mixed with milk as medicine!!!!!!!!!!
"So the Prophet ordered them to go to the herd of camels and to drink their milk and urine [as a medicine ]" [vol. 1, no. 234 ]
I wonder what the doctor would think about Muhammad's brand of medicine? Maybe it would taste better if you add Hershey's chocolate syrup in with it, don't you think?
The rules for urination and defecation are as follows:
A. You must not face Mecca when urinating or defecating [probably because that is where the moon god, allah, resided in the Kabah ] vol. 1, nos. 146-147,150-151
B. You must not use your right hand to hold or wipe yourself [vol. 1, nos. 155-156 ]
C. You must wash your private parts after going to the bathroom [vol. 1, nos. 152-154,157 ]
D. You must use an odd number of stones to cleanse yourself after defectating [vol. 1, no. 162 ]
24. And Just When You Thought It Was Safe To Use The Toilet
Muhammad was afraid that evil spirits might enter his body whenever he urinated or defecated, so he prayed for special protection [vol. 1, no. 144 ]
Those darn devils, not only do they pee in our ears if we fall asleep during prayer, get in our nose and farts, no they try to get us when we use tiolet. The nerve!!
25. Green Birds
According to Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Hamid of the Sacred Mosque of Mecca (Saudi Arabia ),
"Allah's Apostle said: The souls of the martyrs are in the bodies of green birds dwelling in paradise wherever they like [vol. 1, page xxviii ]
If this is true, how can those "green birds" "enjoy" all those beautiful women chained in different corners of paradise? [vol. 1, no. 35; vol. 4, no. 386 ]
26. Talking Babies
"The Prophet said, 'None spoke in cradle but three: (The first was ) Jesus, (the second was ), there a man from Bani Israel called Juraij..." [vol. 4, no. 645 ]
27. When Someone Croaks, He Or She Will Be Asked About What They Said Of Muhammad
If a person said that Muhammad was a slave and apostle, they would not roast in hell, but notice what happens to those who say different of Muhammad,
"The Prophet added, 'The dead person will see both his places. But a non-believer or a hypocrite will say to the angels, 'I do not know, but I used to say what the people used to say!' It will be said to him, 'Neither did you know nor did you take the guidance (by reciting the Quran ).' THEN HE WILL BE HIT WITH AN IRON HAMMER BETWEEN HIS TWO EARS, AND HE WILL CRY AND THAT CRY WILL BE HEARD BY WHATEVER APPROACHES HIM EXCEPT HUMAN BEINGS AND JINNS." [vol. 2, no. 422 ]
I wonder if they would be hollering for some Tylenol?
28. What to do with drunks.
"Abu Huraira said, 'A man who drank wine has brought to the Prophet. The Prophet said, 'Beat him!'" [vol. 7, no. 356, also no. 663 ]
29. Magic Worked On Muhammad
"Magic was worked on the Prophet so that he began to fancy that he was doing a thing which he was not actually doing." [vol. 4, no. 490 ]
30. Who's Behind Bad Hair Day Revealed
"Allah's Apostle said, 'Satan puts three knots at the back of the head of any of you if he is asleep. On every knot he reads and exhales the following words, 'The night is long, so stay asleep.' When one wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is undone; and when one performs ablution, the second knot is undone, and when one prays the third knot is undone and one gets up energetic with a good heart in the morning; otherwise one gets up lazy and with a mischevious heart." [vol. 2, no.243 ]
Aaarrrghhhhhh! Not only does the devil pee's in our ears, farts before we pray, try to get us while we are on the toilet, cause us to yawn, now tries to give us a bad hair day. Ah! the spiritual warfare we have to put up with.
31. What To Do To Keep Magic And Poison From Affecting You
"Allah's Apostle said, 'He who eats seven 'Ajwa dates every morning, will not be affected by poison or magic on the day he eats them." [vol. 7, no. 356; also vol. 7, no. 663 ]
Muhammad seemed to forget about his "remedy" here because we find happening to him,
"Magic was working on Allah's Apostle so that he used to think he had had sexual relations with his wives while he actually had not." [vol. 7, no. 660 ]
32. WWF Smackdown
Muhammad said that Moses slapped the angel of death severely,
"The angel of death was sent to Moses and when he went to him, Moses slapped him severely, spoiling one of his [the angel of death's] eyes. The angel went back to his Lord, and said, 'You sent me to a slave who does not want to die." [vol. 2, no. 423 ]
33. Look! Up In The Sky! It's A Bird! It's A Plane! No, Who Is That?!
"When we reached Tabuk, the Prophet said, 'there will be a strong wind to-night and so n one should stand and whoever has a camel, should fasten it.' So we fastened our camels. A strong wind blew at night and a man stood up and he was blown away to a mountain called Taiy." [vol. 2, no. 559 ]
34. How To Be An Effective Evangelist
"Allah's Apostle said: 'I have been ordered (by Allah ) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform a that, then they save their lives an property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts ) will be done by Allah." [vol. 1, no. 24 ]
35. How To Keep People From Leaving Your Religion
"No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim ) discards his religion, kill him." [vol. 4, no. 260; also vol. 9, no.64 ]

"In them will be (maidens ), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched." [sura 55:56 ]
"We have created (their Companions ) of special creation. And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled ), - Beloved (by nature ), equal in age, - For the Companions of the Right Hand," [sura 56:35-38 ]
"Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfillment of (the heart's ) desires; Gardens enclosed, and the grapevines, And voluptuous women of equal age," [sura 78:31-33 ]
With a heaven like that, is it any wonder why so many people embrace Muhammad's religion?
37. A Crying Palm Tree
A palm tree cried like a baby because Muhammad used a pulpit to preach instead of standing beneath the tree to preach. Muhammad left his pulpit and caressed the trunk of the tree until it stopped crying. [vol. 2, no.41; vol. 4, no. 783 ]
"C'mon, tell daddy you love him."
If Muhammad was truly a prophet, then what he taught came from God and must be true. But if what he said is so ridiculous and absurd that it can't be true, then how can he be an inspired prophet? The logic is inescapable. The hadith is a blow that blows the claim of Muhammad being a prophet and apostle of God out of the water.
"For had ye believed Moses, ye would believed Me: for he wrote of Me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My words?"-Yehoshuah Mashiach (John 5:46-47)
Very informative, I knew they got their other teachings from another book, but must confess I didn't do enough research to find out where the source was from. Thanks bunches, how you don't mind if I use a bit of that from time to time in the debate room

- It's not bottoms up but its dip it and throw it away by the way..Medically it is well known now that a fly carries some pathagens on some parts of its body as mentioned by the Prophet (before 1400 years. approx. when the humans knew very little of modern medicine.) Similarly Allah created organisms and other mechanisms which kill these pathagens e.g. penicillin Fungus kills pathogenic organisms like Staphalococci and others etc. Recently experiments have been done under supervision which indicate that a fly carries the disease (pathagens) plus the antidote for those organ-isms. Ordinarily when a fly touches a liquid food it infects the liquid with its pathogens, so it must be dipped in order to release also the antidote for those pathogens to act as a counter balance to the pathogens. Regarding this subject Dr. Muhammad M. El-SAMAHY chief of Hadith Dept. in Al-Azhar University CAIRO (Egypt) has written an article upon this Hadith and as regards medical aspects he has mentioned that the microbiologists have proved that there are longitudinal yeast cells living as parasites inside the belly of the fly and these yeast cells in order to repeat their life-cycle protrude through respiratory tubules of the fly and if the fly is dipped in liquid, these cells burst in the fluid and the content of those cells is an antidote for the pathogens which the fly carries."

1. A Very, Very Big Adam
"The Prophet said, 'Allah created Adam, making him 60 cubits tall." [hadith vol. 4, num. 543 ]
Adam was 90 ft. tall?! How tall was Eve and their children? Noah, a descendant of Adam, how could he, with all the animals and his family, fit into the ark being that tall? Yehoshua, a later descendant of Noah, why wasn't HE that tall? Why not us?
3. No Doggies Allowed
Angels wouldn't enter a house if a dog is there according to vol. 4, no. 539. Thus vol 4, no. 540, says,
"Allah's Apostle ordered that the dogs should be killed."
Dog lovers sure wouldn't make good muslims. So much for man's best friend.
4. Genetics Accoring to Muhammad
Muhammad claimed that Gabriel gave him the secret as to why a child looks like its father or its mother. This answer was given to "prove" that Muhammad was allah's apostle. He says,
"As for the resemblance of the child to its parents: If a man has sexual intercourse with his wife and gets a discharge first, the child will resemble the father, and if the woman gets her discharge first, the child will resemble her" [vol.4, no. 546 ]
What modern muslim is prepared to prove that one's "discharge" and not genetics is the key to the physical characteristics of one's children?

Thank you for this informative response. If this is true, it would show how much people in ancient times knew, without the use of modern technology. Although I would not count this as a divine revelation.

Obviously, you did not have a response to that one. The argument was not about genetics; it was about who discharged first, would make the difference in the child's appearance. I doubt there are any geneticists who would make such claim. If you think different, please let me know who makes this claim.

Maybe yes, mabye not. But within the context, he was not doing what he was commanding. And that is the argument!
The fact that what he left was given in charity does not change the fact that it was not written down in a will. If I die now, I don't have a will; but surely, if my family have my possessions, they will know what to do with it. This is the case with any family. Therefore, the charity argument does not change the fact that he did not have a will.

Hah...I am sure you can't find a single reference to a killing ordered by Jesus, or His apostles; not one! I challenge you to do it.
Anything in the Old Testament can not be charged on Christians. And if Mohammad was a follow up to Christ, then the same teachings of Christ should had come with Him. This is the argument against Mohammad's teachings of war.

You are correct. I think that, from non-biblical point of view, this argument could be true. However, I believe that, part of YshaYahu's disagreement with this was the fact that the Bible does not make such claim. Thus, the argument seems illogical to him.
Nevertheless, I think that the argument can be sustained, that God can indeed create a being with 600 wings. Why would He do it? I don't know...

This is also true. As soon as I read his reference to this, I thought of Jacob...but for the sake of peace, I did not mention it.
However, I think that, the argument about Jacob does not mean it as "literal" as the Qu'ran means the 'battle with Satan'. I mean, in the argument of Jacob, it was with an angelic being (Angel of YHWH) representing YHWH, as opposed to YHWH Himself.
But of course, the whole argument is about spiritual beings battling human beings. And in that point, I think Mohammad can not be rediculed for making such claim; at least not from a Judeo-Christian stand point.

Though this might be true with the Hebrew laws given, we know as Christians its not what goes in or on the body that defiles "shames" it anymore, but what comes out of said mouth. Here you will see Jesus used this same method of healing, where some believe the Quran got its verse from, a copy cat of sorts.
Mark 8:22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
Mark 8:23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.

Thanks for the correction. Truly, I had forgotten that one. And I agree with you, the Qu'ran uses many references, and "attempts" to copy the Bible. For example, we have the historical books of the OT, and the Qu'ran, in an attempt to copy their styles, also makes "repetitive" stories. However, the failure of the Qu'ran is where it repeats itself too many times, and often it does not keep the stories separate.
Just the other day, I was reading the 15 Surah, and at the beginning it was talking about 'the message, the people who do not believe it, and the preservation of it'--but while it was still talking about the preservation, it jumped back to Genesis (I do not mean the book, Genesis, instead to the 'story of human beginning'), where it relates that God created Adam, and that Iblis (Satan) did not submit to Adam, etc. etc. If you are not careful, you might not be able to get back to the begininng of the chapter! *you will be so lost!*
BTW, I am not trying to speak in a derogatory manner towards Muslims and their Book. I was merely stating my opinion about the book.
And about your chat invitation: I might visit some time, but for now I am getting started on some works for my website. I also don't like chats very much, because they are too fast. Message boards are more slow, and give you a chance of giving proper information, and extensively. Which is a benefit for all.
