Nathaniel chat update....
Well, we tried - but Nathaniel is just too busy right now to work a chat into his schedule - he has agreed to an interview however, on Tuesday. So if you can head over to DaytimeTV.net's Forums and post your question to Nathaniel in the OLTL section where I've posted a thread, I'll do my best to get it answered in the time I have.
Hopefully we'll be able to reschedule the chat for you guys at a later date.

Thanks for posting this here, Valarie. I'm glad he agreed to the interview, that's cool.

I've sensed it for a long time now
I somehow knew the chat wasn't going to happen, and even posted that he shouldn't a couple times... As much fun as it might seem to feel "live" with NM... I can't imagine him being able to switch gears long enough to enjoy it when he's got so much going on..
For him, its not just a playful little chat... for a man who has a difficult time editing himself, he'd have to come to a chat mentally prepared for the challenge, and I think he has so much he needs to be mentally prepared for, I actually don't think he's ready for this, so I'm prepared for the long haul before his fan club is ever underway etc.
I think about KDP and other long timers in the biz talking to their fans but like KDP for example... she's been around for years and has been somewhat comfy in her position, and now that heads are rolling and might need the support, she's acustomed to her fan club...
Excerpt I love from Luisa Valenzuela's The Lizard's Tale: I have my obsessions, I have my fear that drags me along. I’ve been woven into a network of fears, they cross back and forth over my head, they close me in like an enormous web spun by a spider in the reeds, black and precise, malefically beautiful. This net of fears, this geometric pattern, I go on weaving it too without knowing why, without understanding it. I would like to decipher a small end of it at least, a point in the web, so as to go along unwinding the infernal plot, but I’m not permitted that either. Some of my dearest friends have been… running all kinds of risks, and here I am messing around, talking about a spiderweb that entraps me, putting myself into poetic images. The worst thing is that I can glimpse it so clearly, something woven by clusters of black spiders, crouching in wait for their prey, a broad, mile-wise web with us as the prey, and the spiders too.
This is a picture of a wall at the OLTL studio back in 95. My picture is the one on the right, 3rd up from the bottom. These pictures were up at the studio because the stage manager wanted to show everyone who they were talking to online. In those days, with AOL, people at the studio got to talk to us, even the actors would stop by the chat room.

Re: I've sensed it for a long time now
Well, as someone who's been on the opposite side of a chat before, they are a little nerve wracking, imo. Trying to come up with answers to questions in a timely manner, so you're not wasting anyone's time, but still giving them a decent answer. But as with anything, I guess practice helps with that.
But I honestly think NM would be a lot of fun at a chat, because he's so talkative (or so I've heard). He's probably great to interview too for that very reason. Some folks are so reticent about talking about themselves or giving complete answers to questions that its nice to find someone who takes a question and runs with it. I'm looking forward to reading Valarie's interview.

I wonder if the chat took place, and how it went...
There were lots of good questions (funky ones too)... I really can't imagine him enjoying it though, so I wonder why I bother to ask anything.

Excerpt from Seal IV:
You allow yourself to fall from grace then you feel again. You re-ignite the senses... re-evaluate the gift of being able to make someone happy... The frustration... self doubt... all time low... anxiety &... disappointment. You gather them & then you strike with the might of it all. You let it hurt you, maim you & even disgrace you. But you NEVER let it kill you. You let it get you down but then you get back up again & you strike! with the might of a peaceful warrior.
I love my life, I love all the people in my life, even the one's I hate I love. I have the most amazing life in the world. People say the nicest things to me. I'm lucky... I have a voice... I'm not referring to the singing variety. I mean the voice of expression, of communication, how about just being heard? Isn't that what we all want?... [so] it would then give us a feeling of validation? Surely this would confirm our existence after all, none of us want to come and go into oblivion. We want to be counted isn’t that what all the anxiety and frustration’s about?
If I had a wish, [besides world peace], it would be that everyone in the world could experience what it is like to be heard, to connect directly with the emotions of others… But then I guess that would be like world peace in a funny kind of way… Inner peace. All of this is the gift I wake up to each day so you see the problems are insignificant! They become irrelevant in the big picture. Yeah sure I have bad days, sometimes I get down so low that I could wear a top hat & still crawl under a snake, we all do but when we’re being assessed, it’s going to be on how quick & if all we did get back up.
What’s amazing is that we come out of it [&]... we remember the... people that all too often go unnoticed.
