Over 2,000 people attended the Marshall Fields event..
Rockin' style

New fashions, music and a lavish soiree combined for a dynamic evening of entertainment on Friday.

More than 2,000 people were among attendees at Marshall Field's annual "Glamorama" fashion show and party, held the Chicago Theatre and the downtown Marshall Field's store.

Prior to the "Glam Rocks" fashion show, celebrities arriving on the "green carpet" inluded "American Idol's" Ryan Seacrest, Mark Moses of "Desperate Housewives," Jen Scheft of "The Bachelor," actress Lauren Holly and Derrek Lee of the Chicago Cubs.

The high-octane fashion show featured live performances by the B-52's and East Village Opera Company and new designs from Dolce and Gabbana, Paul Smith, John Paul Gaultier, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Ryan Seacrest.

The event, a fundraiser for the Art Institute of Chicago and its educational outreach programs, debuted as Fash Bash in 1999.

"This is a different kind of fundraiser. It's very entertaining and a nice benefit for people who appreciate the Art Institute," said Laura Giles, who co-chaired the gala with Kerry Moriarty.

Kate Pierson, singer for the B-52's and decked out in a Donna Karan outfit, said it was great to perform for "Glamorama."

"This is a worthwhile cause. I believe in art education for kids so I'm happy to be involved," Pierson said.

Lauren Holly, star of various television shows and movies, including "Dumb and Dumber," said she likes fashion shows.

"They're always so much fun. And this is a great one because all the music is live," Holly said.

For Nancy Hahn, of LaGrange, formerly of Chicago's Southwest Side, it was a treat to attend the event's post-party at Marshall Field.

"It's the first time I've done anything like this. And it's great to be let loose in the store after hours," she said.
