Potential BIG news about NM
Ok, I just happend to be checking out that mediadomain board to see if there was actually anything interesting to check out. and look what I came across, it's from a poster named Informer (there is also another post by a different poster with the exact same spoiler) about spoilers posted on another board, datalounge. Now of course I have no idea about how accurate this is cause I've never been to the board before but here's what they said...

Susan Batten (Luna) returns in October to escort a loved one into the great beyond........but it won't be Al (Nathaniel Marston) after all. Nathaniel Marston has had his firing rescinded, thanks to a vocal outcry from fans. Contrary to nasty rumors, Marston's departure NEVER had anything to do with "behavior" problems, and was always at the behest of Brian Frons, and MM/JG, who wanted to craft a tragedy in much the same way that Megan's death jump-started their tenure last time around (1992).
No, instead, Max (James DePaiva) will meet his maker in a heart-wrenching story where he saves Al's life only to lose his own, during surgery to transplant part of his liver to his son. The gift of life for Al leads to death for Max.....and a final set of scenes with Luna as he heads to the afterlife.
Also, Marston's reprieve has led to a reprieve for Fiona Hutchison (Gabrielle) as well, though no word on whether this is a temporary stay or long-term. Either way, she has been officially told that she will remain at least until the end of her contract (May 2004).
If this is indeed true, then we are keeping Nathaniel as Al. It's sad to know that Max may have to die instead but it was definite that he was leaving anyways. won't Nathaniel be excellent though in dealing with the loss of his dad? and didn't Max say recently that everything he does, he does it for Al or something like that since they have gotten so close again? if so this would tie into that.
what do you all think about this?
edit: ok, I went and checked out the Booth to see if it was posted there and it was. and the person the posted it over there said that the original poster of this spoiler, SoapMaven on datalounge is a pretty reliable source. so, I'm really hoping that this is true cause I really don't want to get my hopes up.

This has to be the real deal, since two DL posters are saying it, and we KNOW NM has been at the studio long past the time frame he should have if he was actually going on Sept 22nd! I'm in tears right now, as a sigh of relief! When I think about all we've done to turn this around and to see this happening is such a miracle to me! I held such negative thoughts that TPTB didn't care what the fans wanted, like I was a JERK to be a fan of this show! I kept a "what if" attitude because you know how I feel about Nathaniel's work...
We have to keep up the pressure to ensure he STAYS on the canvas with great stories! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!

Lord, please let this rumor be true!! If TPTB have decided to keep Nate on, they will have my utmost respect. I hope this is not a sick joke. And I don't want Max to die, but I think that if the writers want someone to die then it would be better if its him. because believe it or not he can always come back.
We have never met anyone in Max's family. And from what I read about his family, twins run in it. (yeah, I know everyone's sick of me talking about twins) but is true. And if Max die, Al will become stronger and
wiser. I think it works out fine. lets see what happens
yeah I agree with everyone...
I would feel so much better if we had some type of official word that this is the case.
But the fact that it was coming from more than one source should say something. and I think everything makes sense into what we know is happening. We know JDP is leaving so him dying would make sense. We know that Nate has been around the studio a lot longer than any of us thought made sense. We kepy hearing diff things as to whether FH was leaving or not. Plus that slight reprieve mention in the mag article. All of this really cannot be a coincidence, can it?
we kept saying that if any battle could be won it would be this one and we may have done just that. I really, really hope that this is true.

The best soap news I've heard this year
I've been reading/hearing a lot of this myself. If its true then I'm writing Frons a big thank you letter for changing his mind. If Max does die then I think it would also bring Marcie and Al even closer as Marcie knows what its like to lose a parent.
