Questions About Character's History?
I didn't get to watch alot of Love of Life until the last 2 years it was on the air. I really liked what I saw. I have recently been studying up on Love of Life and have questions about some of the characters that I can't find any info on. Can anyone give me some info on any of the following: Tammy Forrest, Caroline Aleata, Rick, Guy, and Hank Latimer, Eddie Aleata, Ellie Crown. I am especially interested in Tammy Forrest played by Ann Loring. She was on the show from 1956 until 1970 but there is never much mention of her.
Also how many times was Meg married. For some reason I can only find once and that was to Charlie Harper?
One last question, I recently read that Ben Harper was raped when he was being played by Christopher Reeve. Is he the only man in the history of soaps to be raped by another man? I know that he wasn't the first in Primetime because of the movie The Glass House where the young boy gets raped while in prison.
I can't help you too much since most of what I know I've read from books. I never had a chance to see Love of Life. However, from what I've read, Ben wasn't raped. He was *almost* raped in prison and it was after Christopher Reeve had left the role. I think Ben was being played by Chandler Hill Harben.
Tammy Forrest
After checking a few of my soap history reference books, this is what I've managed to find out about Tammy Forrest...
Tammy first met Vanessa after Van and Meg had moved to New York. After Paul Raven was killed in a plane crash, Van went to work to support Meg and Beano. She got a job at an ad agency that sponsored a variety show called "Starship". Tammy Forrest was the emcee of the show. Tammy was an alcoholic and it was beginning to interfere with her career. The producer of the show realized that Tammy couldn't go on and replaced her with Vanessa. This led to Tammy's natural resentment of Van. However, Van began to help Tammy with her drinking problem (as a thought Van would obviously do!) and Tammy and Vanessa began to become friends.
Later, Van left New York and moved to Rosehill and married Bruce Sterling. Tammy, too, wound up moving to Rosehill. Rosehill resident Maggie Porter discovered that she had leukemia and only a few months to live. Maggie then set out to find her own replacement as a wife to husband Link and picked Vanessa! However, Tammy and Link fell in love and were married after Maggie's death. Of course, Maggie's evil twin sister showed up and tried to break up Link and Tammy. Later, Link died.
As far as what other storylines Tammy Forrest was involved in or how the character left the series, I don't know. This is all I've been able to find. I hope this helps!

Besides you have surley a lot of other work with this board. You are not only here to answer my questions.
So, please, take all the time you need, I can really wait!!!
(Actually, I´m also very busy as I have lots of exams now)
You are really sooooo nice! Thanks for everything!
Re: Tammy Forrest
Sarah Dale was the mother of Meg & Van. Her husbands died, the second one being a pharmacist named Alex. The second husband portrayer died and that is why Alex was killed.
Vivian Carlson was the mother of Gaye Carlson, Bruce's dead wife. She had the two children of Gaye and Bruce in her care, one being Barbara. She didn't care for Van, and thought her daughter was a saint. But, Gaye wasn't a saint.
