Posted: 12/4/03 14:14 Restorals FAQHow do I request a restoral for my community?
1) Log into your control center
2) Click on the Community Tab
3) Select the correct community to manage (for those with administrators with more than one community)
4) Click on the "Restore" button.
From here, a ticket will be sent to our ticket system, and your ticket will be answered within the next business day. Make sure you have all necessary information in the ticket in order to receive prompt action. This information is:
a) Your correct username and email address
b) The date the last time your community was in tact (the date you want your community to be restored to)
c) A thorough description on what happened to your community, and why you want it restored.
Who is eligible to receive a restoral?
1) GOLD ezboard communities.
2) non-GOLD ezboard communities that lost their data due to an ezboard glitch--meaning we did something to make you lose data on your community.
What constitutes as a proper reason for a restoral?
Due to the nature of the restoral, more data can be potentially lost. When we restore, a backup "snapshot" of your community is put into place. This means all data and changes since the "snapshot" will be LOST. We generally only like to restore due to extreme situations. Some possible reasons are: loss of posts due to a spammer, loss of posts/threads due to improper use of the pruning feature, a hacked account causing loss of data.
How often are backups performed?
A backup or "snapshot" of your community is performed every Sunday. These "snapshots" will expire in 2 weeks of its creation. Therefore, if you need a restoral, it is highly recommended that you submit your ticket AS SOON AS POSSIBLE since this is a time-sensitive request.
I'm not Gold, but I want my community back and I'm willing to pay for a Gold membership--will you honor this request?
Yes.
I have a new community, I changed the theme, and I want my old theme back, can you restore this?
No. You can re-import the original default theme which is demonstrated here.
Can I restore just one forum and not the whole board?
Yes, make sure to list the forum number that you need restored.
Can I restore just one topic that I accidentally deleted?
No, you can only restore that forum.
Note that restorals are never necessary to fix broken code in the custom HTML area or bad color design. Those things can all be fixed without doing a restoral. restorals are only needed to recover lost posts or forums.
If you have any questions regarding the restoral of your community, you are welcome to submit a ticket anyway and ask. We will get back to you with an answer in 1 business day.

Note that if you have the whole board restored, and there was a recent community chest payment, that may vanish from your chest. Please make a payments ticket and explain the situation to have that payment returned to your chest. helpdesk.ezboard.com/inde...p=paymentsEdited by: ezstrangelets at: 10/28/04 22:25
