Saturday nights...2wd or truck modified???
Along with Kenji's request for more Rookie racers...I was wondering what it's going to take get some mod racing going. Since we have a layout that favors a little more side-by-side racing I was kinda hoping that the Mod truck class would rise again and or 2wd mod get a little stronger.
A side note, if you have any problems with set-ups(AE and BJ4 cars), I am more than happy to help you out. I'm going to try to be there every saturday night for a while, so if you need some advice...find me and I will help you as best as I can.
So come on Mod guys and gals!! See you at the track.
mod truck and mod buggy
i will be there this saturday to do alil mod buggy and mod truck racing..and from what i understand a fewmore of us Indiana guys are planning on being there
SWWWWWEEEEEET
Nice....sounds like Saturday will be good. I know that Chad Due from Wisconsin is coming to do battle, so it sounds like it's on. Kinda hard to pick one now...I'm thinking buggy but truck will rock as well.....bringing both....but racing just one.
turns
How many turns of a motor would be the best bet for Modified Truck class?
In 2WD buggy it seemed Coop did best with a 12 turn. Just for yucks we did try 9 turns and a 10 turn but those had way too much power and caused him to have less control.
So running a T4 what motors should I bring with me?

Re: turns
11x2 would be a good choice. I got some motors if u need some horsepower
Re: turns
Running truck at Leisure is sometimes weird in the sense that the straight is long and you would think that the HP would be good to have. However the straight is only 1/8th of the track in relation to time, so you have to figure out that the turns and jumps are better to attack when you have control. 11x2 is a good choice, but I would start with 12x2. The layout we have now kinda opens things up a little so when you can go around the track without crashing with a 12 turn, then go to the 11. I'm trying to say these things with a certain skill set in mind,so, when you see me running a 10 or a high end brushless...just remember that I have doing this for a LONG time.
As far as 2wd, I would go with a 13x2 or even a 14x2. Again the track conditions, car set-up and ability all come into play here.
Gearing my motors(99% of the time):
Truck: 8 over the wind with an 87 spur.
Buggy: 9 or 10 over with an 81 spur. Edited by: Melldiddy at: 1/27/07 5:55 am
