Saving money on food $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I'm a single parent with two boys, 6 and 8.
For the past four years, I being shopping ONCE A MONTH. I usually make a list of all the foods my family eat and buy them.
EX: 2 juices a day for 30 days that is 60 month, Cereal 7 boxes will last a whole month, eggs large size 18 x 4= 72, bread the sliced ones 5 bags I freeze two bags, cheese in slices large pack brings 72 slices. Meat, I buy wholesale, I have an extra fridge, I usually put in portions of 3, if I have guests I will take an extra pack.
I buy plastic bags for Lunches, it usually cames 50 on a box, its clean and can zip it up to avoid a mess.
Fruit, I buy apples, it last longer, peaches, pears (this I buy twice a month). You have to count the amount of food and vegies that you're going to it to avoid waste and spoil. I spend from $250.00 to $300.00 a month in food. I save in gas, and going to the store to buy one thing and end up buying more stuff that I don't need or don't use.
Thanks;
