Script errors on board and in chat?
I've just added the falling snow script and a cursor, and this is what on eposter said, but no one else seems to be having problems.

Quote:
I've gotten all kinds of 'run error' messages.
I've gotten 'script error' messages.
The chatroom goes up and down like a jack-in-the-box.
When in the chatroom, the letters are sometimes in wingding format (mine and others).
Home page loads half-way or not at all.
Colors are off or not there at all (completely black or white screen with some text in strange colors).

And this on my work computer which is a dream compared to my laptop and home comp (which BTW won't load anything at all). Java updates automatically on all of the computers so I don't think that is the issue. All of this began with the first snowflakes.

Can someone tell me if it's the board scripts or is it her computer?

Hmm, I get no errors in any of my browsers, do you know what browser/operating system (eg Internet Explorer and Windows) they are using?

Re: Script errors on board and in chat?
This is what she told me:

Quote:
Had my IT guy take a look at it from work. He couldn't determine if it was the snow or not, but there is definitely script on the site that is not compatible with the firewall. He removed it and things are good from here so far. It may not be the snow, but my problems didn't begin until you put it on. But for right now, I'm good and hopefully I'll remember how to delete the script on the lap-top and home systems as well to see if it helps there at all.

None of my 3 comps are connected; as in they are all used independently of each other. They're all running XP Pro 2002 and the work desktop runs through a server using NT (don't know if that matters or not). We have a pretty tight firewall and filtering system at work, but I've never had any issues on any of the computers with this site or any other for that matter.

So, it seems to be okay now I guess. I'm just curious now what firewalls she has and why she seems to be the only one that had problems. Oh well, at least it wasn't my code.
Thanks for the help.:D

The chat room does seem to be buggy lately and kicking people out, but that's fairly standard...
