Searching
Matilde was floating around the Entrance Hall. She carefully scanned every person that came in, looking everywhere for Laurent. She was also interested in watching people in general. She enjoyed seeing their emotions, the movements. It was as close to living as she could come.
"Oh, come now. He isn't here. You yourself have been dead for ages. You know he must be. And what other ghosts in their right mind would come here?" she asked herself quietly.
She turned and glided back to the wall. She was just about to go through when she heard someone. She stopped and slowly turned around to see someone there.

"Excuse me, if you don't mind me asking, who are you looking for?" Peggy asked the ghost as she saw her watching everyone who walked in.

"Oh, no one in particluar," Matilde answered sadly. She turned aways so the girl could not see her lying expression. After she composed herself, she slowly turned back around.
"Hi. I'm Matilde DeSaeryn. Resident ghost, but I don't have a particular house. What's your name?"
Matilde thought the girl looked about the age she had when she'd died. In her mind, Matilde was still that age. Maybe they could be friends, over the barrier of death.

"Oh, hello! I'm Peggy Fleming! I'm a seventh year moose!" Peggy replied with a smile. She thought that Matilde looked close to her age and also felt like she was sad, Peggy could see it in Matilde's eyes. "So..did you attend this school..umm..when you were..umm..living?" Peggy felt slightly funny asking a ghost about when they were living just because some ghost tried to pretend that they weren't dead, others got quite upset at being asked about before they died. So Peggy wasn't sure if she should have said that, since she didn't want to upset her.

"No...No, I didn't. Seventh year you said? That would make you what, 16 or 17? I was only 19 when I died."
Seeing how Peggy was skirting around the death issue, Matilde floated down to her. Reaching a hand out she said,
"It's all right. We all die eventually. I accepted the whole thing a few decades ago. Just, don't make any unnecessary cruel jokes and I don't mind," she said softly.

"Oh ok, ya, I'm 17." Peggy simply replied with a smile.

Re: Searching
"That only makes us two years apart. I wonder what if would have been like to come here," she said thoughtfully.
"I guess it is silly of me to search faces. I mean, I've been dead for years, centuries, probably a decade or more. Laurent, I assume now, as well. But I still have some twisted hope I'll see him again. Though I guess he would be a ghost too," she finished quietly. Her face had a small half smile on it.
