Sharon...what happened?
I'm hoping that the writers redeem Sharon ASAP, because until then, like it says on "My Views on Kurn's Y&R website," Jack Smith has written Sharon exactly how Nikki sees her: manipulative, untrustworthy, etc. And the worst thing about that is, in my opinion, Sharon Newman was never intended to be written this way.
When she first entered the scene on Y&R & up until the time she blamed Nick for the death of their baby, Sharon Newman was a sweet, innocent, loving, all-around decent character.
I think the writers must have just decided one day to shock the viewers by giving her a dark side, thinking that we'd all be thrilled with the change. I, for one, am not thrilled.
The ONLY way I can think of for Sharon to be redeemed is if she confesses EVERYTHING about Cameron to EVERYONE and takes responsibility for her actions. Then she needs to seek professional help, which she should have received after the many tragedies in her life, ex: Matt Clark and losing her baby.
But, who am I kidding? You know the writers. Once they're done with this s/l, they won't have Sharon learn anything from this ordeal. She'll just keep making the same stupid mistakes over and over.
Well, obviously, I am extremely disappointed with what the writers have done with Sharon Newman and am shuddering at the thought of what they may do with her next.
I was hoping that any of you would have something hopeful to say, or something else to add to this. Thanks for your thoughts!
