Super Shiny Hair
How do you get super shiny like the celebs without going broke?

I read in April's edition of Glamour that you can go to the salon and request a semipermanent clear gloss, and that it will last for about 6 weeks, but is there another way? Is this clear gloss available in drug stores too, or can I only get it at the salon?

Thanks,
Julienne

Re: Super Shiny Hair
Good question Jules. I have no idea, but I sure would like to find out. My hair gets so dull in the winter.

Re: Super Shiny Hair
I've never actually tried this, but I've been told that a henna rinse will make hair nice and shiny. (It's not actually enough henna to add color to your hair.)

Re: Super Shiny Hair
Hmmm, that might be worth a try:)

I put mayo and beer on my hair once (not at the same time;) )
I didn't notice any difference except that my hair stunk for days.

I've tried the mayo thing too, and I must say I do not recommend that to anyone; unless of course you like to smell like mayo.

:lol My mom told me once that she put mayo on her hair when she was a teenager... it made her hair so oily that she spent a whole day in the shower washing her hair over and over and it still didn't come out.

I find that the Wal-Mart version of Thermasilk Conditioner makes my hair really really soft and shiny.:)

Re: Super Shiny Hair
Read in magazines that after bathing/showering, rinse your hair with cold water.

Supposedly makes your hair shiny.

Re: Super Shiny Hair
I don't have any special techniques but I have a hair product that I can recommand.

It's called BIOSILK silk therapy. It makes your hair very shiny and soft. It smells wonderful too! You can buy this product at a salon for about $21.00 for 11.3 oz bottle. Also comes in a smaller size if you don't want to spend that much. It usually last me forever because you only use a small amount each time. Try it and let me know how it works.

Re: Super Shiny Hair
The cold water thing works wonders on your hair Elesha, don't you fret!
Also, if I can revert back to Lush (the best store in the world!) then I can reccomend that you buy 'Cynthia Sylvia Stout' shampoo then you are flying because this has an extract of Irish Stout in it so you have the beer and it has other things in it which make it smell delicious so you hair won't stink when you play volleyball or anything else!
I can also reccomend:
Ultimate Shine Solid Shampoo Bar - makes your hair shiny with little gold sparkly bits in to make it all pretty!
H'Suan Wen Hua - stand under a halogen lamp and admire the shine!
'B' Never To Busy to Be Beautiful Shower Gel - get the frozen pods!!!
Last but not Least - Tisty Tosty Bath Ballistic.....will leave you smelling of roses and feeling like a princess as it has seven rose buds inside it! An aphrodisiac as well you know!

Re: Super Shiny Hair
well, my hair isn't too shiny...but using Paul Mitchell Shampoo (basically from any hair supply shop) really works! ;) It smells great too :) Thats what I use as a conditioner...I'm not sure if they have the shampoo...they probably do ;)

I use henna sometimes :) Its really just a higlighter for your hair...I remeber I did red highlights once...it came out really nice ;)

wow, I have to try these other products!! I've never heard of the cold water thing...I'll try that :)

I've tired the cold water, but that doesn't work either. Guess my hair will never be celebrity shiny!

Re: Super Shiny Hair
Oh..I use Pantene's Volume & Fullness Shampoo.
Supposedly takes only 10 days to work its magic.
I really can see the difference in my hair.

If Pantene's being sold in your country, try the Smooth & Silky shampoo.
