I agree 100%! Although I never got to see Denise Alexander during her time as Susan Martin, I've read alot about her and her character. However, I always thought that the character (played at the time by Bennye Gaddis after Ms. Alexander went to General Hospital) simply left town with one of the Peters brother (I'm not sure which). Maybe I'm mistaken. I should point out that I do have one episode of Days (a video transfered from a b/w kinescope) that features Denise as Susan. It's from 1966 and the entire episode is about Susan meeting David Martin's parents for the first time right after their elopement. I'm just in awe of how wonderful she is in the role and of how beautiful she looks!
As for your comments about Doug, Julie, David, and Scotty, I couldn't agree more. With Hope's continued prominence in the storyline, I would think that they would focus a little more on this branch of the Horton family. I could see Scotty (make him in his mid-20s this time. deSORAS him, please) involved with the 20something set. Wouldn't Julie have a cow if he took up with Nicole? Or Sami? As far as a storyline or romantic interest for David, I'm not sure. He'd sure be into his 40s by now and I just don't know what character would be in the right age range for him. Maybe Greta (if she isn't really a Horton). Or, how about a triangle with Nancy and Craig? Just random ideas off the top of my head.
