The Meeting of the Mothers...
As you can tell from my egg post, I have had loads of fun over the last couple of days. To add to my stress... my mother-in-law to be came in to meet my parents. OMG, this was stress like no other. They got along just fine, but they are so incredibly different and so darn annoying in each of her own very special ways. They are both incredible and very kind, but that is where the common ground ends. Here is just a summary:
My Mom:[b/]
Shop 'til you drop was coined for her.
Always well put together
Reserved, but friendly
Neurotic
Wired
Ethnic, when talking, yells and uses her hands a great deal
Smokes non-stop
Thinks her daughter is going to eventually put her in her grave
Thinks natural means "made in USA"
Loves to tan
Honest about sex
Mother-in-Law to be:[b/]
Hippie
Allergic to everything that is political, including soap, rice, etc.
Talks without stop
Friendly
Very strange, thanks the couch for letting her sit on it
Emotional
From South Dakota and highly religious
Thinks her son was her guru in utero
Thinks she is allergic to amino acids (not kidding)
Hates the sun
Sex is bad word
Anyway, that is just a summary. Now, imagine these two together and delicate little 'ole me trying to keep a balance somehow... can you
