The Power of Atheism to Change Lives
yeah right..
ATHEIST
A) From the greek atheos meaning NONE or WITHOUT and theost meaning god(s) literally godless or without gods : one who denies the existence of God
B) An atheist is a person who maintains that there is no God; that is, that the sentence ‘God exists’ expresses a false proposition... a person who rejects belief in God. - Encyclopedia of Philosophy
C) atheism is an active belief that God doesn’t exist; Atheism, the critique or denial of metaphysical beliefs in God or spiritual beings. As such, it is the opposite of theism, which affirms the reality of the divine and seeks to demonstrate its existence; for the atheist, the nonexistence of God is a certainty.’
Most atheists talk about being free to think critically - being "free thinkers" and "open-minded"
An atheist is open-minded kind of like a trash can without a lid... I appreciate being called "close minded." Jesus said, "My way is narrow." An atheist's freedom, his open-mindedness, is limited by the philosophy of atheism whether he wants to admit it or not. It is very difficult for him to accept that there is an Higher Power who really is in charge of things... there is an egocentric part of him that would much rather not be a Christian and remain hidden from the Truth.
cool quotes by atheists
"We have seen that living things are too improbable and too beautifully ‘designed’ to have come into existence by chance.’ The world-renowned crusader for Darwinism and atheism, Prof. Richard Dawkins, The Blind Watchmaker W.W. Norton & Co, N.Y. 1987, p. 43
"A common-sense interpretation of the facts suggests that a superintellect has monkeyed with physics, as well as with chemistry and biology, and that there are no blind forces worth speaking about in nature. The numbers one calculates from the facts seem to me so overwhelming as to put this conclusion almost beyond question. Fred Hoyle, British astronomer
Better Quotes
... what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:19-20)
God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:4-5)
