The latest on NM staying on our canvas...
I got this from MARCAL4EVA at the Kitchen, who was at the SOD chat...
"Ok according to the mod Al will be back on the 14th as a ghost..and in a few weeks will get a new body...someone else's..not chris' or any character we know..a new person's body..and no one will know he is Al..but we will see NM while everyone else sees the new person and he will have some sort of mission..exactly like Heaven Can Wait the movie.."
I still have to wonder if he's not going to be able to stay. Maybe we got NM for a LONGER PERIOD OF TIME, but can he STAY on the CANVAS this way? We'll have to take it one day at a time, and be continue our efforts to support him.
I'm really looking forward to everything were gonna see him do though. I know NM's capabilities, and we're in for a real treat. I know he'll make us proud to have stood up for him, and we'll be able to brag on and on about how much fun it is to be an Al fan, and we'll be GLUED to our TVs... Of this I have no doubt!!!
And even if the long term is problematic, I am certain that we are all better off for all this turmoil having happened. NM deserves recognition, and juicy stuff to play... and if all this caused that... well, I'll take it one day at a time, cuz I'll just bet you all, were seeing something far better than he would have gotten if they were still mulling over whether to keep him or not... like before the departure news. Tell you the truth, I sometimes think we'll lose him to the big time.. but I'd be happy for the guy.
Its a great day for us as fans... I can't wait for the road ahead. And I'll have to rent Heaven Can Wait because I haven't seen it in ages. Remember to send Thank You postcards to TPTB... and never ever forget to call to comment on all the scenes I know will be gushworthy...

I don't believe I've seen "Heaven Can Wait" but I've seen many movies on tv that I had no idea what they were called so maybe I have at one point in time. Anyways, this is exactly I pictured that Al's return would play out. How they kept saying that Al was dead in body but not in spirit. It also fit with the new character info we were hearing about. We would see him as Nathaniel's Al while everyone in the fictional world would see him as someone else.

That is a good question. It at least gives Nathaniel more opportunity to prove what he can bring to the show and we all know that he can do it, especially with a storyline centered on him which we haven't really gotten so much of while he's been on the show. You're right Char, we have to just take it one day at a time and see where it goes.
What's to come will be totally worth watching and prove that Nathaniel was worth the fight.
You're right Char, Nathaniel got well deserved recognition out of this and it definitely did not hurt his career no matter where his future path takes him.
