actually i think flame wars would be fun if allowed to run their course. Why are they not fun? because they usually result in some sort of punishment. i say let people fight. its the fucking internet for crying out loud! who are they going to hurt?

In defense of Ran's board though, I think it is good that there is tightened control. I have seen messageboards were flamewars are allowed to roam free. By the end of a few months, everyone is always typing like "You fucking asshole, you are being so fucking gay like you were at the thread last week you fucker" Of course, I also feel deprevied of flame wars at Ran's. I only lurked when the infamous Bronn the Cruel posted there and I just haven't seen many good flame wars since he was banished.
