Validation email, where is it?
Are you not getting the validation email for a new account you just created or an email change?

If you did not get the validation email, or did get it and then received a message stating that your validation code was not valid, use this form to request a new code.

www.ezboard.com/help/form_resendvalidation.html

If you are not receiving the validation e-mail you were expecting (either through a request from the form, or a new registration), you may need to check your e-mail filter settings. This applies especially for accounts hosted with Hotmail or Yahoo!. If you have a Bulk or Junk folder for your e-mail account, check there. After checking (and altering the filter settings, if necessary) request a new Validation e-mail.
Many ISP's have a default spam filter that might be on even if you never turned it on

If you still don't get the validation email or the validation code does not match, Please file an accounts ticket:
helpdesk.ezboard.com/index.php?_a=tickets&_m=submit&group=accounts
from the email that you registered with, and we will send you the validation code. Please use the email that you used for the account, and list the account name in your ticket. If it is a local account, give a link to the board too.

If this is for an email change and you no longer have access to the email linked to the account, you can still open an accounts ticket.

Re: Validation email, where is it?
There has been an increase in reports of AOL and Compuserve users not ezboard email. This corresponds to an update in the spam filtering program for t AOL 8.0 and 9.0.

AOL will automatically send emails from ezboard to the spam folder. If you are having emails from ezboard going to the AOL spam folder, you need to add these email addresses to your address book. And make sure your settings are for "email from people in my address book are never spam."

noreply@ezboard.com
help@ezboard.com
helpdesk@ezboard.com
staff@yukucorp.com

The default for the Spam filter is Mail from senders in your Address Book and Buddy list will always be delivered to your main mailbox

You also need to be sure that they don't have it set to automatically delete spam. You can set it to put emails in the spam folder and hold it for 3 days. This gives you time to look for expected registration type emails.

keyword spam controls

or
click on Spam Controls link in mail management

or
>Mail
>>Block Unwanted Mail

and select
Blocked mail should be:
Delivered to the Spam Folder

From time to time AOL will delay the delievery of emails from ezboard. Most of the time the emails will be deliever in minutes but at peak times it may be 12-48 hours before they arrive in your email.

Re: Validation email, where is it?
Hotmail Update August 2004
Once again, Hotmail is filtering ezboard emails as spam. If you use Hotmail , ezboard emails will automatically go to your junk folder if you use the default spam filter settings.

There are several things you can do to prevent this:
Log into your Hotmail account and in the upper right click OPTIONS
Mail Options > Junk E-Mail Protection
There are 3 settings for the junk filter
Quote:
Choose your Junk E-Mail Filter level:
Low - obvious junk e-mail is caught.
Enhanced - most junk e-mail is caught. (this level is the default)
Exclusive - you will only receive e-mail from addresses appearing in your Contacts, service announcements from Hotmail, and messages you have consented to receive from MSN.

Note: At Enhanced and Exclusive levels, wanted messages are occasionally identified as junk e-mail. Check your junk e-mail folder regularly to make sure wanted e-mail has not been moved there.

At Enhanced and Exclusive levels, all ezboard emails will go into the junk folder. I have not tested the Low setting yet.

The next section to check in options is
Safe List
Messages from e-mail addresses on this list will not be filtered as junk e-mail.
In that section, enter ezboardcorp.com, yukucorp.com ezboard.com and ezboard.net as domains to add to the safe list. (I think we are doing away with emails from ezboard.net, but it won't hurt to add this to the safe list)

Also, you should make sure that your junk folder is set to save junk mail instead of automatically deleting it. The default setting is to save it for a period of time but there is also an option to have it deleted immediately.

You can also add these addresses to your Hotmail address book, it is less likely to be seen as spam if it's on your contacts list.

Hotmail may delay the delivery of ezboard emails. They have marked ezboard emails to be delivered in bulk. It may be delayed a few hours, a few days or a week, and in some cases not at all.

If you just registered an ezboard account on a hotmail email and have not gotten your validation email even in your spam folder, please file an accounts ticket to manually validate your account:

Re: Validation email, where is it?
Some AOL users have reported that turning off the AOL pop-up blocker will allow them to receive ezboard validation email. So in addition to the steps above, please try that if you are using AOL email. I am not sure how or why a pop up blocker would affect the email account, but AOL works in mysterious ways!
