What an awesome series coming up...Red Sox/Cubs
Two teams that haven't played each other since the 1918 World Series. I think it's gonna be a very fun series. It's definitely a historic one, to say the least.

Re: What an awesome series coming up...Red Sox/Cubs
I'll definitely give the Cubs props for winning the series against us :baseball . It was too bad my guy Nomar was hurt though, I'm sure he would have loved to play in the series. We had a double wammy in that series though, 1. we hadn't really played that well on the road up to that point of the season and 2. just about our whole pitching staff was pitching bad. I don't know if you watched the sunday night game on ESPN but Joe Morgan was pissing me off when he kept bringing up the thing about Boston sitting out Ortiz, Varitek and Mueller. Sometimes national announcers don't make sense when talking about teams or players from teams that they don't see on a regular basis, not all the time but occasionally. I could actually think of good reasons for Francona giving Varitek and Ortiz a day off that day. and all three replacements: Mirabelli, Millar and Youkilis had at least 2 hits in the game so I don't see where the problem was.

As much as that bugged me though, they are the worst National announcers IMO. The ones that really bug me are Joe Buck and Tim McCarver on Fox. They bug me so much it isn't even funny.

Ok, that's enough about that....

Damn Yankees. I was watching the game on Saturday(even with the dreaded Fox announcers, lol) and was rooting for the Cubbies of course. The Yanks have been weird this season, they are either hot or cold never anywhere in between it's weird. I think my boys need to play them again cause a couple times already this season they've gone into a cold stretch after playing Boston.

There was one funny thing about the game on Saturday though. Fox puts the ads behind the plate on digitally, so there's usually either just a green panel or a blue panel and then they put the ads on for the viewing audience. Well, they were using a blue screen that day and the Cubs were wearing Blue shirts. One time when a lefty was at the plate I noticed that part of the ad was on the batter since the color of the shirt was the same color as the panel where the ad was supposed to go. If they knew that the Cubs could wear the blue shirts couldn't they have made the ad panel green instead so the ad wouldn't be partially on the batter.

Jen :)
