yeah i agree with you on the athiest thingy, but disagree with your opinion on buddhism i felt the same way a year or two ago, i abandoned catholism for atheism and recently have decided to sit on the fence and be agnostic, i felt that the only religion i had respect for was buhddism, but have learnt a tiny bit more about it since then and really feel no more affinity for it then any other religion. its not that different from catholicism you cant fornicate, be gay or steal, but its also worse in the sence you cant take intoxicating substances, namely alcohol ( i drink a fair bit and enjoy it very much, regardless of the brain cells i now am missing) however i came to a realisation that just about every religion has its merits and bad sides and that the good or bad things we percieve in religion are personal prefernces and differ from person to person. i also had a thought that people who convert generally see more merits in the religion they are converting too then the one they were previously in.
