X2 rocks - Matrix was disappointing
Was it me, or did they talk to damn much in the Matrix?? Jada was simply not in it enough!
Oddly enough, I think there was the same amount of dialogue in the first Matrix. Here is what a reviewer said in my local rag - and I agree with him for once. However, the first time we saw it, we clung to every word because we were so desperate to figure out what was going on. Plus, we were wowed by the action, the special effects, etc. The action did not dazzle this time around. It's a fun rip-roaring religious movie that thinks it's really smart, and even if it's pretty much undergraduate three-beers philosophizing, it makes for one good movie. I had a great time and will definately see the 3rd one this fall.
Of course, it does earn it's R rating with a completely unnecessary and redundant sex scene. But, perhaps in order to show us they knew how ridiculous the scene was, the filmmakers juxtaposed it with the stupidest futuristic dance scene since the Ewoks' sock-hop at the end of Return of the Jedi. Why do movies keep showing future dances?
I do worry that now everyone has saved everyone else in this one, I think they will end up killing some in the last one.
And on a personal from me - Carrie Ann Moss is the best female action star since Linda Hamilton in the Terminator!
Thank you reviewer for making some valid points. Have fun arguing and debating guys!

Fuck, did that architect of the Matrix talk a lot! It was about ten minutes of closeups of that old bugger's stupid, ugly face. They talked waay too much in this movie, and who knew that Morpheus was such a religious zealot? Aside from that, I still liked the movie, but yeah, it was a bit of a let down.

i still think M2 had expectations set too high for it to live up to. i mean, you can't really reproduce the originality of Matrix again. i thought it was awesome, though there were some, uhh, "not so good" moments in there. in terms of action, it was great. i also liked how it wasn't just action sequences the whole time. it's a really thought-provoking flim. overall, i'd say it's better than a lot of movies out there, but not as good as the original.
haven't seen X2 yet.

Damn, so many good movie, so little money
Anywya, i'll watch all those movies no matter what! I don't know who you say the name in English, but i am looking forward to watching the green giant movie!!
Matrix was a let down. Perhaps CdoT is right (that's a first! ), it couldn't be as good as the first movie no matter what they would do and the expectation were set too high.

I liked it mostly. By Neo's third fight I was a little bored and ready to see Morpheus and Trinity kick some ass. The freeway seen was worth the price of admission.
