I have thought about that alot, the idea that the unvierse is so vast and has been around for so long, that we really are quite insignificant. But then I begin to think about things in a different light. As Maynard sings in Parabola, "Recognize this as a holy gift and celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing." So from realizing how small I am in this world, I feel significant and lucky to be a part of a universe that is so vast and large. When you think about all that has happened and all the events that have caused the world to come to this point, we are all fortunate and significant to be alive in this world at this time.
"I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human. I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been. Spiral out...keep going........
