iVillage is nothing but one great big SPAM originator. Within days of joining, I had more SPAM in 24 hours than I had had in 5 years!!
Posted: 6/16/03 12:54 pm Re: Best?
I use village photos for most of my images and it works fine. sign in and check your daily bandwith if you're having problems with it. Also, the pics don't always show up when you first upload them... you gotta give 'em a few minutes before they work.
Beware, they do not allow multiple accounts. If they catch you, they'll delete your account and all your pics with it.
Even has Dan1113's support, you just can't beat that;

They are are doing a top notch job in every area of their business it seems. I will definitely bookmark their web page and come back for all of my internet hosting needs. They are running a very fine business and I am highly impressed with the superior sensibilities displayed towards customer service. They also seem to be doing an excellent job of employing quality people. I will be their loyal customer and I will recommend them to anyone who will listen.

You would either need to change your main page, your Terms of service, etc.. because both do not "clarify" the specificness of the service.
From the TOS:
Quote:Accounts are limited to one per valid email address. Anyone found to have multiple accounts are subject to suspension at the discretion of Max Free Album.
I think you would need to be more "clearer" about how one person can have unlimited accounts, thus on the other end of it all.. that person can only sign up for one account per email address.

who needs more than one account when there are no file size limits or space limit?
Posted: 7/19/03 11:47 am Re: Free Image Hosting Sites & New Image FAQ ( 20 Februa
If anyone has Compuserve, they give you 20 MB per screename. You can have up to seven screenames, so that's 140 MB of free (as long as you are a Compuserve member) image hosting. Unfortunately, you can't upload anything other than pictures. I really wish they'd allow me to upload music, but hey, with 140 MB of free space, who am I to complain?

i've been using www.ranchoweb.com for several months now. it *is* paid, $10/1MB/year, but if you just use this for avatars and small sigs this can go a long way and it allows hotlinking, and i've never redX'd with them..
and a note about miamihost... it says in fine print: all unused accounts are deleted every two weeks <scary>

I have found a good place to store any files you wish to link to and very easy to use.
It shows how much bandwidth you have used, and gives the url under the file name. (Subject to a max daily allowance) All looks ok, but will uupdate you if I find any problems.

I don't have AOL.. but my best bet would be that if your server is AOL, you can go into AOL.com and sign in through MyAOL. I think in there, you can access hosting on your account.

Hi there guys
Imnew to all of this and have been using yahoo geocities but im always getting x's in squares.
What is the general concensous on this?
Posted: 11/30/03 2:59 pm Re: Free Image Hosting Sites & New Image FAQ ( 20 Februa
The concensus on this is that geocities blocks any images being hotlinked, simple really, find another webhost.
Photobucket.com is a leading image hosting company for ebay, online auctions, message boards, live journals, and online photo albums. Photobucket is reliable, fast and very simple to use. With the increasing number of digital cameras, users need a place to store and display images online. You can easily upload, categorize, add titles and delete images as needed. Your pictures are safe and will not be deleted, and best of all, direct linking is allowed. Currently, this site is free and has minimal limitations, however donations are appreciated!
What you get:
1. Direct linking allowed
2. 2,500 megs bandwidth p/month (~70,000 hits)
3. 100 megs disk space (~2,500 pictures)
4. No porn or offensive pictures
If you make a donation he removes these restrictions.
