Prelude to adventure..
The scenery was rough and hilly. A mountainous area very difficult to go by foot from below a virtual hideaway from the world.

A small village with houses made of limestone from the mountains lay nearby. Each of the houses stood fairly tall in the sun. People walking around doing thier days work carried on, Their clothes the colour of the houses are made from the aniamls they raise.

Suddenly from one of the houses higher up in the village on a fairly large hill. A youth bursts out in a hurry it seems to get to the front entrance of the village perhaps for a meeting..

"Oh man I'm gonna get it now!!..." The youth in a panic races down the hill as fast as his legs could take him. All the villagers could see was a grey haired blur run past occasionally shouting sorry when he came close to running into people.

Finally arriving at the entrance to the village he hoped that his friend and teacher werent too annoyed at him for almost forgetting practise.

Prelude to adventure..
At the entrance to the Village of Helix, a young swordsman is talking to a much older man. They wear the same mantle over their shoulders...

"Now Argan," says the old man "You must focus your energy further into your soul if you are to ever accomplish what you were born to do."

"Don't worry old-timer, I can transform already. This destiny thing is starting to annoy me..." says Argan.

"That's Master Gabriel to you boy! Not old-timer. You can never be strong enough, I think you underestimate just how important this is!" says the old man, who now introduced himself as Gabriel.

"Seriously..." replied Argan, "I can topple anyone in this village. Meditation is boring, I'd rather practice my swordsmanship."

"I know what's best for your training!" snapped Gabriel, "I've bested monsters far stronger than you've ever seen. Show some respect!"

Suddenly Gabriel spotted the youth with grey hair in the distance, sprinting towards him. Gabriel looked at his watch, "It's about time..." he mumbled to himself as the youth approached.

Re: Prelude to adventure..
As the grey haired youth reaches the two he gives a kind of i'm sorry look.

"Edge Grey reporting for training sir. Sorry about being late but someone gave me their extra clothes to wash...". Edge then gives a look over to the other youth who seems just about in his 20's.

Edge then remembering his reason for being there draws his sword and begins practice moves he had been told to do in earlier lessons.

Prelude to adventure...
Raises an eyebrow at Edge, then says, "Hey, don't complain! It's your day to do the laundry."

Gabriel looks towards his watch and shakes his head, "Nevermind. It's too late to get anything done now..." Gabriel begins to make his way back to the village, then turns around to face Argan. "That reminds me, the elder told me to tell you to go to his house this afternoon. I think he has an assignment for you." Gabriel turns around again and walks back into the hussle of the vilage.

Argan sheathes his Iron Longsword back into the scabbard on his back, underneath his mantle. "Hmm, everyone wants my help around here. Looks like I'm gonna have to do another job for the Elder. Have fun training kid." Argan begins to follow in Gabriel's path towards the village slowly.

Still doing his training routine he looks back with a mean look "Hey i'm not a kid i may be a teenager but your only like 4 years older!!!".

With that he sticks his tongue out and continues his practise routine. under his breath you can maybe just make out. "Talk about rude..he better not expect me to cook tonight...".

With his sword he practises the various parries and attacks told to be practised everyday.

Prelude to adventure...
Argan makes his way around the tavern and past the weapon smith's hut, to reach the center of the village. He follows a stone path around the center fountain and proceeds towards the Elder's rather large house. A guard held the door open as if they were expecting Argan.

"Argan Trask is here Elder." said the guard as Argan walked through the door to the Elder's living room.

"Ah, my boy. How are things?" asks Elder Helix.

"Not to bad, training as usual. Yourself?" replies Argan.

"Ah, I am doing fine." says the Elder with a cough, "Age hasn't got the better of me yet. Actually I need you to do something for me. Gabriel has informed me that adventurers have found the remains of an elemental temple five miles south of this village. Since the temple is in our province, it is our duty to explore it first, and Gabriel volunteered you to go and investigate for us."

"Oh did he now?" says Argan slightly miffed. "What do you expect me to do?" he asked.

"Well, there are bound to be monsters in there, and it is unsafe for our scholars to research the ruin until they have been desposed off. We'ld like you to make your way to the center of the ruins, slaying anything harmful you see in your path. This will clear a path for our scholars." explained the Elder.

"I see." replied Argan, "I'll have the place cleared up by sunset tonight, is that ok?"

"That should be fine Argan. Report back to me when you are done. Best of luck." said the Elder.

And with that, Argan made his way back to the front entrance where Edge was training. As he passed him he said, "I've got some business to take care of. Have my dinner on the table when I get back ok? I'll bring back a few corpses for tommorow."

Edge stops his training and looks back "You what!!! Oh no you don't i'm coming too!. Even if you don't need backup you always get all the jobs. And i'm not a girl i can help!". Edge puts his sword back in his sheath and re-adjusts his scarf and Jacket.

"I don't care what you say i'm going with you and thats that!". Edge folds his arms and waits for Argan to lead the way.

The look in his eyes shows he intends to go even if Argan said no.

Argan turns around to face Edge, "Oh no you're not!" exclaims Argan.

"You can't transform, have no elemental properties, or magical properties. You'll just be a liability. Plus if something happens to you the Elder will kill me because you are not assigned to this job. You'll be much more useful making the dinner." says Argan with a smirk.

"Oh yeah i'm good with a sword and besides as soon as you have to head off i intend to follow so you can't stop me!". With a slight smirk back he waits for the cocky older youth to think of a way to counter.

"Besides you can't do all the work!".

"There is a reason why I get given these jobs and you don't. I'm strong, you're weak, it's just the way things are. Now if you take one step after me. I'm gonna drag you back to the Elder and he can babysit you while I get the job done... ALONE!" replies Argan.

"Your wasting time Argan besides without your element i could kick your butt back to the elder now lead the way. Everyone else here can't as good as us so quit calling me a kid and start moving your butt to the job or else it's not going to get done!".

Edge is now starting to get ticked off

Prelude to adventure...
Argan unsheathes his Iron Longsword. "You've been warned. Follow me, and I'll kick your ass, drag you back to the Elder, and have you locked in a room until I return."

Argan turns away and begins to walk off into the distance.

Waiting till he was a fair bit away Edge starts to follow him making sure not to lose him. "Who does he think he is man why will no one let me prove that i can help? I'll show him a thing or two....".

As he follows he tries to stay hidden but there isn't much to hide him. He gets behind the odd rock or bush to view where Argan is going.

Prelude to adventure...
Suddenly, four Waspos Monsters appeared in a group, and surrounded Argan. One of which was silently hovering a meter behind Edge's head.

Argan smirked and brought his Iron Shield out and was ready for battle against the monsters, "Too easy..."

Suddenly the Waspos behind Edge pointed it's sting towards it' target and lunged towards him at a gret speed.

Another begining
Location: Avanti Village’s lake
Party: -no one-

Umi Daily lay back in the middle of the small clear lake hidden nearby Avanti Village. She was perched on a smooth rock with another acting as a headrest above the water line that reached her collarbone.
“Ahhhh,” she sighed happily, content in her own little world, “this is so relaxing, I’m going to miss this place.”
She began to wonder if there were any hot springs in nearby towns, she always wanted to try one to compare it to the lake.
Umi ran her hands through her long brown and blue hair as she reflective, speaking to herself as she often did; “I wonder what the outside world is like. I hope I can be a help to people…”
She paused at this and thought for a while before she smiled, concentrating on her powers to convince herself that she had what it takes.
The water surrounding her suddenly rippled out and then back before wisps of the clear liquid floated up and around her, she let out a little giggle as the wisps looped in circles before diving back into the main body of the lake.
“Well, better get too it… lot’s of people to say good-bye too.”

Hearing a buzzing sound behind him Edge turns around to see the incoming sting of the monster. Just dodging the creatures attack by diving to the left which left out from his cover in view of Argan he turned around to his target.

"Dammit and i wanted to stay low profile." Drawing his sword he prepares for combat.

"If he sees me your freinds will have gotten off lucky with him the same can't be said about you!".

With that Edge begins to attack his enemy.

Prelude to adventure...
Argan swipes at a Waspos to his right and takes it's head off. "You guys are weak." he says as the other two begin to flee back to the forest.

He hears something behind him, and he turns to see Edge fighting a Waspos of his own. "I warned you kid, now you're in for it!"

Argan began sprinting towards Edge, and as he got close he raised his right hand and begun to slam the hilt of his sword down towards Edge's head.

Killing his own Waspo Edge turns to hear the remark from Argan. "Look don't give me..WOAH!!!". Seeing the incoming hilt Edge just manages to side step to the right keeping his sword in a vertical stance.

"Oh you wanna play it that way huh ok i'm sure i can spare a few seconds KICKING YOUR BUTT!!!!! AND STOP CALLING ME KID!!!".

Edge gets back into his battle stance and begins to counter the hilt strike with a sliding tackle.

Another beginning part 2
Location: Avanti Village
Party: -no one-
=======================

Umi’s mother paced the wooden hut’s main room a few times before turning to Umi’s grandfather and continuing her argument; “But she’s left 16 and she will be leaving shortly, mere minutes no less.”
The old man shook his head; “Petra, she is still too young. Maybe in a couple of years.”
Petra’s face grew more worried; “But what if she gets into serious trouble and *it* happens? What about our history, and more importantly…”
The old man suddenly snapped his fingers and then put his index to his lips. He paused for a moment, heard a light creaking sound, and then began to talk slightly off topic; “And I believe we should allow Umi to become the true bearer of the Mizubutai.”
Umi suddenly appeared at the hut’s entrance with a shocked look on her face; “You’re letting me keep the staff? Really?”
Her grandfather nodded with a smile.
“Oh thank you,” Umi skipped over to the elder and hugged him before turning and doing the same to her mother.
Petra began to cry and Umi tried to comfort her with words of confidence.

A while later, the three were outside near the village entrance. The wind blow through the many trees surrounding them, and people were randomly going about their day’s work while children ran around in and out of huts.
“Take care of yourself,” sniffed Petra.
“I will mother,” said Umi, forcing a smile while clutching the Mizubutai in both hands that little bit tighter, she didn’t want to cry in front of them.
The elder stepped forward; “Do you remember the Water Ruin?”
Umi nodded; “I’ve only seen the entrance and never returned after you scolded me and Rapps.”
The old man laughed; “Well, today is the day I give you permission to go there, I wish for you to explore it well to gain some insight before you leave on your travels. That is all I will say to you.”
Umi got that feeling once again that there was much more than just the odd fact being hidden from her right now. She had once heard that her mother went through the same process before she went to travel, later finding a husband and returning to Avanti years later.
Umi bowed to them both.
Petra walked up to her and kissed her with tears still in her eyes; “Good luck to you, I love you.”
Umi hugged her tightly and then backed away from them both; “I will return one day, even if it’s just for a visit. I…”
She started to choke up; “I love you both… bye!”
With that she turned and ran through the trees, heading for the ruins she hadn’t seen for years. After she was out of sight, she slowed down to a trot and tried to compose herself.

=======================

Argan quickly side steps to the right to avoid Edge's slide tackle. Argan couldn't afford to injure him severely, so slicing him up with his sword was out of the question.

Argan quickly lept backwards a few feet and held his palm out towards Edge on the floor. A basketball sized ball of Holy energy forms infront of him, and Argan pushed it off in Edge's direction.

Seeing the basketball sized attack fly in the only thing he can do is roll forward into a low stance.

"No fair how am i supposed to attack you if your using your elemental power already!".

As the two square up for another round a voice can be heard from the direction of town. The town itself was still just visible.

"Stop wasting time and just go already otherwise you both get extra chores!!".

Edge gives an annoyed look to Argan "Now you've done it because you were so stubborn our teachers angry...well you'd best lead the way or it might be worse....".

Edge put his sword back into the sheath on his left side and waits for Argan to lead the way forward.
