Re: What DVD's have you bought recently?
I can relate Kadaver...I was the same way, but my wife solved the problem by getting me a computer with a top-notch DVD Burner...now I only buy a certain number of special releases and don't waste my money on library titles that I don't need...and best of all, i am not divorced...believe me, when she used to look at the credit card bills she looked like this...
"Your father's one sick mother. Actually your mother is one sick mother too"
Re: What DVD's have you bought recently?
You know, a little too much liquor + credit + internet + being an obsessive collector geek = (that's me on the left, and my wife with the flame thrower!). I didn't even remember this second order 'til about halfway through work today, and even then, I couldn't remember what all titles I bought 'til I got home and re-read that post...
I was drinking for a while, then I got in bed with the new issue of Rue Morgue and I read the review for Do You Like Hitchcock? and was like 'oh shit, I gotta pre-order that' then I had some more to drink when I got to the big article on the work of Pete Walker (I've got Schizoid and Frightmare), and damnit if Chris Alexander doesn't know how to convince me that something is great! (I think I own almost every film he's covered in his Schizoid Cinephile column) So then I just had to get the upcoming Pete Walker films, and then I remembered a few Nazisploitation titles I forgot... fucking christ! I'm just going to have to pull some serious overtime at work for a bit (and plenty is available at present) and just pay this shit off quick! Thankfully I can almost double my paycheck with overtime- but then there's not much time to watch all these movies!
Oh and mtmagpie- one money saver I did implement is that I severely limit TV show purchases (the only two I'm keeping up with anymore are The Simpsons and The Munsters) other stuff I want, but don't want to buy I'm just burning (Dead Like Me, The X Files, Family Guy).
Maybe I should start drinking less? Aahh, who the fuck am I kidding!

Good titles Cujo! I especially love Safe! It is a really disturbing little movie that not many people have seen.

Re: What DVD's have you bought recently?
Now..I have not actually 'bought' anything, as non-of these cost me money. So my 'no more buying DVD's' pledge kind of still holds!
Used some credit of the from selling an XBox game:
"Marathon Man" - £2
"Brimstone and Treacle" (movie) - £1
"The Killer Elite" (Pekinpah) - £2
ALSO i just received some screeners for review from 'Panik House':
"Blind Beast vs Killer Dwarf"
"Screwed".
Both from Teruo Ishii ("Female Yakuza Tale") and both I expect are going to be either amazingly brilliant or utter rubbish. We shall see.
