My name is Marc, live in Aurora IL, I'm 33, married with two boys. All I have in the RC category is my RC10T from '91. I am looking to back into the hobby with my oldest son. I Was wondering what ages the dads on this board got their kids involved? I was thinking maybe I could start out with the 1/18th scale indoor carpet racing. (And maybe a 1/8th scale truggy for myself!)
The pictures of the new facility look great, can't wait to get down there and check it out.

I have an 11 year old daughter and a 4 yer old daughter, Just got back into racing this past spring, after being away for almost 11 years. I have an original r/c10 alum. pan buggy and the first losi truck with the trailing arm suspension. I raced the losi truck 2 times last spring and quikly upgraded to a T4
Re: what is your age? Where they live? What do you race?
Hello All,
I'm Dave.. I live in Whiting, Indiana. 33yrs Old. Married with two little ones (2yrs and 8months).
I drive:
LST2 (stock) - Like it so far, too early to tell though.
RC18T (Mamba, Lipo, etc) - I love this thing!
T-Maxx - All bling but no zing. It's pretty but it's heavy and always seems to be broken.
Ultra MBX Pro - Its about 5 years old but it has only moved about of 10 feet in its life. I just put a new engine in it but it's not broken in yet and it needs a body too.. this buggy may be beyond saving (but it's sooo clean and new looking.. just long in the tooth). Is this thing worth ressurecting?
History: I've been into RC for about 10 years off and on.. but I never raced and was never a particularly good driver. Not horrible, just not good. With some time on the track and a few pointers from you folks, I should be.. well... still dead last for a long, long time.. but I'll get better!
Re: what is your age? Where they live? What do you race?
My name is John and i am 15. i live about 15 mins (depending on how fast im going) away from the new LHR . I plan on racing my REVO when i get more practice.
howdy to the dads
My name is Brian. I come to the track with my son, Donovan. We have a mugen mbx-5, an OFNA buggy, and a brushless E-MAXX that is too fast for its own good. T-4's are on order...
DAVE - My son started getting into monster trucks when he was 4, then I started pulling my old-school r/c stuff out of the basement. He jumped on it and has never looked back. He is now 5 and drives my mugen buggy better than I do.
If you are gonna start with a young child, get him/her someting easy to drive like a 1/18 or a "low center of gravity" truck.
And we can probably get that OFNA buggy running easier than you think. Let me know and we'll figure it out.
