I think I fixed it- I tried to add a pic to my sig but I screwed it up. I'm a complete and utter dork when it comes to computers. I think I'll just keep it simple from now on.

You know how long it took me and how many people helped to figure out signatures and what not? I still have so much to learn but I am so busy, I shouldn't even be posting so much.. Besides, who could EVER get tired of seeing Al looking at Marcie like that? That picture is awsome!

I wasn't sure if that's where you were going with it when I was under the impression you thought my talking about Al "getting into Marcie" meant I thought it was a driving force for Al... But you were referring to Natalie, so its a mute point since were all on the same page. I think we are in agreement ultimately, but we fleshed out alot of issues, and I"ve really enjoyed analyzing it. You have so much insight, and I wouldn't have learned some things about myself if you hadn't spoken your mind.
You know, I really do respect you, and have been trying to tiptoe to say things the right way, so if I still failed, please let me take this opportunity to set the record straight. The only way to get to the bottom of something is to be up front about it. I could have just bit my tongue and still be here wondering if you think I'm icky.
I'll tell you a story... the northerner goes to borrow a cup of sugar from the southerner, by asking after the greeting at the door. The southerner says he doesn't have sugar even though he does, because the northerner didn't ask him how his family was doing, or anything, before just wanting something from him. Another southerner goes to another northerner for a cup of sugar, and the southerner starts a conversation about the northerner's life and family before asking to borrow some sugar. The northerner gets irritated and tells him to his face that he would have gladly lent a cup of sugar, but since the southerner played this game about pretending to care about him and his family when all he wanted was the sugar... he was being deceptive, and therefore didn't deserve the favor. He should have been up front, according to the northerner.
If these parties were to get together and get to the bottom of it, they'd find that none of the parties were anything but wonderful and in total agreement about what is important. They just context things differently, so getting to the bottom is a different road. I hope that's how you see me. I know I'm different, and I've spent a lifetime trying to figure out ways to avoid unpleasantness by being unpleasant myself, so I've focused on how to question social practices.. and you seem adept at the social world. I could learn alot from you. I'm currently working on making adjustments in that area. I feel like a dork half the time, but I'm trying.

Oh wow, you can see the picture?
All I see on my screen is a square that says image hosted by tripod...if the picture's there to everyone else I don't feel so bad. Maybe I'm just half a dork!

Char possesses but all i saw was the tripod sign too. don't worry though at least you have a sig. I can't figure out my rooter from my tooter and I have to have a friend make me one, cuz I do want one really bad!

Char, I think you are a lot further along than you think, girlfriend. i know how touchy some people can be and I'm not good at tiptoeing. It takes a whole lot to offend me so don't worry about walking on eggshells for my benefit. i have been called brutally honest and it is how I prefer people deal w/ me. We can discuss anything and I mean that literally. And if we don't agree, we don't agree or maybe we do, either way I'll still log on the next day and chat the same as before. I just appreciate people willing and able to articulate their POVs. I welcome new and different people into my life to learn things that in my limited time on this planet I might not otherwise know and enjoy.
I must say that there was a time that anyone referring to me as "socially adept" would have been laughable. I've been that b*%&$, just bcuz I wasn't happy and everyone knows misery loves company. And I've also been the hermit avoiding people like the plague bcuz I didn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member. There had to be something wrong w/ them, if they didn't see everything that was wrong w/ me. Or if they saw what was wrong and wanted me anyway, that was a definate sign. Pursuing a life that was true to Tera changed all that for me though. I hope you are doing the same, Char. Bcuz it made all the difference to my quality of life. It is good that you pursued your acting passion. I just found mine and it is women's rights.
We are all works in progress. And I hope we can learn a lot from each other.
Maybe I'm just half a dork!
