for longtime viewers: Carolyn Jones or Marj Dusay?
The role of Myrna Clegg was originated by Carolyn Jones (best known as Morticia Addams on The Addams Family). However, she left the series when she fell ill with cancer, and subsequently died, and was replaced by Ms. Dusay. I only watched a scant few episodes of Capitol (I did enjoy what I saw, but it was on at the same time as Another World ). In your opinion, who was the better Myrna---Marj or Carolyn?

Although I loved Carolyn Jones, I have to go with Marj. It still makes me mad how PR treated her... but Marj had that brittleness that was necessary to the character, to want the best for her children, yet be controlling about it.

Carolyn's stint made Myrna clegg more of a 1940ish style diva than an 80's style.I suppose if Capital was on during WW2 then she would have fit right in. Marj gave Myrna Clegg a little more depth.

Oooooooh! 1940s style diva? Well! Considering my websoap, that sounds to be right up my ally! LOL

Carolyn Jones, easy! Marj is a fine actress, but Carolyn Jones was just perfect in the role. She was the prima bitch and you could believe that she could actually tell Richard Egan what to do, and he would do it out of fear of her! She also had a much better antagonistic relationship with Trey. That could be the writing, but it may also have been that she played their relationship in every scene, whereas Marj didn't.
